Stop Catastrophizing

We lost in the Sweet 16. It happened to be against Iowa. This is not indicative of anything other than a close loss in the NCAA tournament. Stop comparing the basketball team to the football team. Stop being whiny b!tches. This was by far the best season in program history and the future is bright. Celebrate it and let’s embrace some optimism for once.

I agree. We did our best, but I guess our best wasn't good enough.

I am torn. I agree that we should not be comparing the basketball team to the football team. I also disagree. The loss to Iowa was indicative of a grander pattern of dysfunction and disappointment and a specific manner of losing to Iowa. The rational part of me recognizes that you cannot believe the latter without the former. Since my basketball fandom is conditioned by football fandom (who is a genuine counterexample among us?), they prove impossible to separate. At least for the moment. Optimism? Nay.

It can still hurt. Lost as the favorites to our biggest rival (sorry but it's true). In a game where we were the better team for about 36 minutes.

No doubt it hurts. Just saying people are missing the big picture a bit tonight. I get it. F*ck Iowa. But let’s not forget what the team accomplished and the new direction of the program.

Nope….we lost, to Iowa… worse than losing the first round game. Absolutely a better team than them this year and still go down. It’s embarrassing and equivalent of 4-5 football losses. We’re little brother and it sucks

It absolutely sucks, Iowa is the worst. Still, you’ll reconsider the magnitude of this season in the morning. The basketball team will get more money and have a good CHANCE to be even better next year because of success before and during the tournament. That doesn’t happen without the OKC performance.

Dude, We went 28-7. In the deepest conference in basketball our worst loss was to a round of 32 team. We are going to finish like 15th in the polls. We were picked 14th in the conference. This was the greatest season in the history of the school. Yes we had an off night and couldnt knock down the shots we needed to to put them away. But it doesn't take away from what this team accomplished.

Whiny bitches sums up most of our board, unfortunately. The game threads are an example of grown men embarrassing themselves each and every week. Doesn’t matter the sport, they will be there Calling themselves “ real Husker fans.”

They hit their shots down the stretch, we didn’t. Happens. Sucks it had to be against Iowa but there’s always another game

Our guys played great all year, you can let one play or one loss eat at you, or you can stand by the road and cheer them for their efforts. I am so proud of them.

It seems in the, no matter what year, Iowa is always going to have either more or better outside shooters than we do. Hell our best shooter came from there too.
