Well, he DID go to the Final 4. And he has most wins in Texas history. And he was Coach Of The Year four times! And he went to 5 Sweet 16s And they haven't accomplished anything since he left. I wonder if Texas now regrets it?

This is not why Texas fired him. He didn’t get out of the first weekend from 2009-2015 and recruiting slipped while Baylor and A&M started surging with in state recruits. Everything else you said is technically true but the title to the thread is demonstrably false.

Texas firing him was one of the worst decisions by an athletic department in the modern era. There stupidity has been to our great benefit. If we go to the elite eight again next year, I will be thrilled!
