AP Poll Top 25: College Football Rankings released after Week 10
The calendar has turned to November, and as the temperature cools, the college football season heats up. Conference championship races, rivalry games, and, of course, massive upsets abounded in Week 10. So, with that, the AP Top 25 Poll has once again been updated.
Three teams that were ranked in the Top 10 of last week’s AP Poll fell in upset losses. That’s before the chaos around the rest of the sport. So, there’s plenty of changes to be had this week too.
Keeping all of that in mind, here’s a look at the latest AP Poll. It comes with just a few weeks left in the season.
1. Ohio State
The Ohio State Buckeyes remained unbeaten over the weekend. That came after a battle against the Penn State Nittany Lions that was closer at halftime than many expected. Still, a strong second half saw Ohio State pull away.
Now, Ohio State is one of several teams to control its own destiny. Win out, and the Buckeyes are back in the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoff once again.
2. Indiana

The Indiana Hoosiers were back in action on Saturday. They’d take on Maryland, and it was never particularly close. With the Hoosiers flexing their muscles, it sure looked like a team that belongs at the top of the AP Poll.
Indiana is one of two teams in the Big Ten that look like they’re on a crash course for the Big Ten Championship Game, alongside Ohio State. Of course, Indiana having a win over Oregon and Iowa should even give the Hoosiers some added cushion.
3. Texas A&M
The Texas A&M Aggies had the week off after knocking off LSU in Week 9. Still, that’s no reason why they shouldn’t be one of the top-ranked teams in the AP Poll. After all, with their entire body of work, the Aggies look to be headed to the CFP.
Texas A&M, now, is one of two SEC teams without a loss in conference play. The other being Alabama. Since those two don’t play one another, the Aggies are in an excellent spot moving forward this season.
4. Alabama
Alabama was on a bye week in Week 10. That gave the Crimson Tide to hit the reset button after nearly being upset by South Carolina a week before. With LSU coming to town next week, Alabama will once again be fighting off an upset minded opponent.
Luckily, the Crimson Tide control their own destiny moving forward. Without a loss in SEC play, Alabama can simply win out and find its way into the College Football Playoff this season.
5. Georgia

The Georgia Bulldogs got all they could handle from Florida. A 24-20 finish, had a review on an incomplete pass late been overturned, the Georgia season could very likely have been overturned too. Still, the Bulldogs held on once again and continue to march forward.
The challenge for Georgia is its loss to Alabama. Without a game upcoming against Texas A&M this season, the Bulldogs are on the outside looking in at the SEC Championship Game. That means they need to keep their resume in order for the CFP.
6. Oregon
Oregon had a bye week in Week 10. That hasn’t seemed to hurt them in the AP Poll, though. Now, the Ducks are going to be focused on the final month of the season, starting with a road trip to Iowa.
Oregon has the issue that it lost to Indiana and doesn’t play Ohio State. That means that the Ducks need some help to make the Big Ten Championship Game. It also means they need an impressive finish to secure that CFP spot.

7. Ole Miss
After losing to Georgia, Ole Miss needed to avoid a bad slide. It appears they’ve done that with two straight wins. That includes a big win over South Carolina this week.
Ole Miss is clearly well respected by the AP Poll. At the same time, it’s a tight CFP race. So, the Rebels need to keep on winning.
8. BYU (+2)

The BYU Cougars look to be in poll position in the Big 12. Unbeaten, BYU is looking to finish strong now. Certainly, their AP Poll ranking makes them look like one of the best teams in the country too.
While BYU controls its own destiny in the Big 12, it’s not an easy road ahead. Notably, the Cougars play both Texas Tech and Cincinnati in November. Those are the Big 12’s one-loss teams looking to knock off BYU.
9. Texas Tech (+4)
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have been dominant the last two weeks, bouncing back from their upset loss. Now, that success is once again being reflected in the AP Poll.
Texas Tech has just three games left. By far the biggest is against BYU this upcoming Saturday. Win that, and the Red Raiders are in a good spot for the Big 12 Championship.
10. Notre Dame (+2)
Notre Dame would take some time to get going, but eventually pulled away from Boston College on Saturday. Now, the goal is to put together a resume that gets the Irish to the CFP. Certainly, the AP Poll respects them, but it’s about building a full resume.
Going forward, Notre Dame won’t see a ranked team. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any pitfalls in the schedule. In particular, Navy’s triple option is never easy for next week.
