CBS Sports shakes up Top 25 QB rankings after Week 13 of College Football
Nearly a full regular season of college football has been played in 2025, and the elite quarterbacks across the country have separated themselves. Ahead of the final week of the regular season, CBS Sports has overhauled its top 25 QB rankings.
There wasn’t much movement within the top 10 — except for there being a brand new No. 1 in CBS Sports’ update. However, more than one quarterback jumped into the rankings between No. 11-25 from their play during Week 13.
With that being said, CBS Sports has revealed its updated top 25 QB power rankings. Did your team’s QB1 make the list? Read it in full below:
1. Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt (+7)
Pavia turned in his most impressive performance of the season during Saturday’s 45-17 win over Kentucky. He completed 33-39 passing attempts for 484 yards, five touchdowns and an interception. He also logged 48 yards rushing and an additional touchdown.
The win improves the Commodores to 9-2 on the season. They’ll keep their fight for a College Football Playoff bid alive this weekend when they travel to Neyland Stadium to take on rival Tennessee.
2. Marcel Reed, Texas A&M (-)

Reed threw for three touchdowns during Texas A&M’s 48-0 win over Samford during Week 14. He’s now thrown for 2,752 yards and 25 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions on the year.
The victory improved the Aggies to 11-0 and are one win away from completing its first undefeated regular season since 1992. They’ll try to accomplish this feat this weekend at Texas.
3. Drew Mestemaker, North Texas (-1)
North Texas rolled to its fifth win in a row on Saturday on the road against Rice, defeating the Owls 56-24 to improve to 10-1 on the season. If UNT can win the American Conference, they’ll most likely be representing the Group of Six in the College Football Playoff.
Leading that charge has been Drew Mestemaker — the nation’s No. 1 passer. He’s thrown for nearly 3,500 yards this season to go along with 26 touchdowns and four interceptions.
4. Gunner Stockton, Georgia (-)
Gunner Stockton’s 89.5 QBR is third-best among qualifying quarterbacks in the country this season. He’s thrown for 2,465 yards, 19 touchdowns and four touchdowns all while leading Georgia to a 10-1 record so far in his first season as the Bulldogs’ QB1.
Heading into Week 14, Stockton has helped lead Georgia to seven consecutive wins after falling to Alabama in September. Facing off against the ACC’s Georgia Tech, Georgia will be hoping for a Texas A&M or Alabama loss this weekend to make the SEC title game.
5. Fernando Mendoza, Indiana (-)

Fernando Mendoza will most likely be in New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist next month. He’s thrown for 30 touchdowns compared to five interceptions and has added five scores on the ground to boot.
More importantly, he’s led his Indiana Hoosiers to a perfect 11-0 start to the season. They’ll look to complete their undefeated regular season on Saturday vs. Purdue.
6. Haynes King, Georgia Tech (-2)
Haynes King is closing in on a 1,000-yard rushing season with 883 yards and 15 touchdowns scored on the ground this season. He’s thrown for 2,516 yards and 12 additional touchdowns as well while only throwing four interceptions along the way.

Georgia Tech lost its second game of the season to an unranked Pitt team last week. Now, the Yellow Jackets are looking at a reality where they began November as a top-10 team and now are in the back end of the CFP rankings.
7. Ty Simpson, Alabama (-1)
Alabama bounced back from its loss at home to Oklahoma with a 56-0 dispatching of Eastern Illinois. Simpson threw for 147 yards and two interceptions during the contest.
Those turnovers were uncharacteristic for Simpson and the Alabama offense. He had turned the ball over just twice all season coming into the matchup and is expected to clean that up in the Iron Bowl vs. Auburn this weekend.
8. Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss (+1)

Trinidad Chambliss has taken the nation by storm this season, arriving on campus as a largely unknown prospect out of Ferris State. He’s since taken the starting job and hasn’t looked back all while being one of the top QBs in the league this season.
He’s thrown for 2,657 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions on the year while also rushing for over 400 yards and six more scores. All eyes will be on the Egg Bowl on Friday night, but Chambliss’ performance will likely be overshadowed by his head coach during the matchup.
9. Byrum Brown, South Florida (+2)
USF defeated UAB 48-18 while QB Byrum Brown threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns on a 76% (19-25) completion percentage. He’s closing in on 3,000 yards thrown this season and is responsible for 37 touchdowns on the year.
The dual-threat QB will look to lead USF to its ninth win of the regular season vs. Rice on Saturday. However, the Bulls are no longer in playoff contention after losing its third game of the season during Week 12.
10. Joe Fagnano, UConn (+2)
Mestemaker may be the nation’s leading passer, but Fagnano is hot on his heels. He’s third in the nation, throwing for 3,441 yards, 28 touchdowns — and one interception on the season. In his seventh season of college football, Fagnano has thrown for over 10,000 yards in his career.
UConn rounded out its regular season with a thrilling 48-45 win over FAU and QB Caden Veltkamp, who is also the nation’s No. 2 leading passer. The Huskies finished the 2025 regular season with a 9-3 record.
11. Dante Moore, Oregon (+4)
12. Noah Fifita, Arizona (-5)
13. Devon Dampier, Utah (+30)
14. Jayden Maiava, USC (-)
15. Demond Willams Jr., Washington (+5)
16. Bear Bachmeier, BYU (-)
17. CJ Carr, Notre Dame (-1)
18. Carson Beck, Miami (+18)
19. Arch Manning, Texas (+9)
20. Mason Heintschel, Pitt (+19)
21. Jake Retzlaff, Tulane (-)
22. Behren Morton, Texas Tech (-)
