Coaches Poll Top 25: College Football Rankings released after wild Week 13
On3

The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings were released following a wild Week 13 of college football. We are now down to the wire this year with one game remaining in the regular season.

Conference championship game scenarios have been revealed for the final week and the College Football Playoff picture is taking shape. Isn’t it exciting?

So without further ado, let’s dive into the latest Coaches Poll rankings. We’ll start at the top.

1. Ohio State

Ohio State dominated Rutgers, particularly in the second half, and ran away with a 42-9 victory. Still at the top of the Coaches Poll, the Buckeyes turn all focus to Michigan this week.

Bo Jackson ran 19 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns while James Peoples and CJ Donaldson each scored once. The Game awaits as they look to end a four-game losing streak.

2. Indiana

Indiana had the week off but remained high up the Coaches Poll. The Hoosiers take on in-state rival Purdue this coming weekend to try and finish off an undefeated regular season.

Indiana has to win and they’ll get into the Big Ten Championship. The College Football Playoff might be a formality at this point.

3. Texas A&M

Texas A&M dominated non-conference foe Samford 48-0 and improved to 11-0. It’s not going to do much for the Coaches Poll, but it’s a win.

The Aggies are ready for Texas in the regular season finale as they look to punch their ticket to the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff. All eyes in the great state of Texas next week!

4. Georgia

Georgia beat Charlotte 35-3 to get to 10-1 on the season and will take on Georgia Tech in Atlanta next weekend. The Bulldogs are in great position to get into the College Football Playoff, which is first and foremost.

As far as the SEC Championship Game, they need some things to break their way. Still, don’t be surprised if this team ignores the Coaches Poll and competes for the national title.

5. Oregon

Oregon took care of business against USC at home and remained high in the Coaches Poll this week. The Big Ten Championship is still a possibility, but as long as the Ducks beat Washington, they’ll get into the CFP.

Dan Lanning was pretty empathic about playing tough conference games late in the year, rather than cupcake non-conference games. Looking at you SEC! (Lanning’s words not ours!)

6. Ole Miss

Ole Miss had the week off and will get the Egg Bowl on Friday to try and get to 11-1 and lock up a College Football Playoff. They need some upsets to make the SEC title game, but the Rebels could be dancing shortly.

But the Lane Kiffin shadow hangs over this Coaches Poll top five team. Should he stay or should he go? Ask The Clash.

7. Texas Tech

Texas Tech had a week off before the regular season finale. The Red Raiders remained the top 10 of the Coaches Poll with one game remaining.

Joey McGuire and crew will take on West Virginia next weekend and as long as they take care of business, they’ll be in great position to make the CFP. Not only that, they’ll play for the Big 12 title, likely against BYU.

8. Oklahoma

Oklahoma won an ugly one, but they won. The Sooners took down SEC foe Missouri 17-6 to improve to 9-2 and kept some good vibes going after beating Alabama last week.

This is a bonafide top 10 team in the Coaches Poll right now and they’re still fighting for the College Football Playoff. The defense showed up big time, which could be a massive sign for the finale and moving forward.

9. Notre Dame

Notre Dame won 70-7 over Syracuse to win its ninth game in a row and led 21-0 before the offense even took the field. You read that right.

The Fighting Irish look like a runaway train right now so you better not draw them early in the College Football Playoff. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them climb the Coaches Poll a bit more after next weekend.

10. Alabama

Alabama beat a down on their luck Eastern Illinois team 56-0 as they get ready for Auburn. Coaches Poll aside, the latter is what matters.

The Crimson Tide need to win to get into the SEC title game and practically lock up a College Football Playoff berth. We know what the Iron Bowl brings and Alabama can’t afford a misstep like they did against Oklahoma.
