SAN ANTONIO, Texas – While a majority of the players in the All-American Bowl are already signed, there still will be plenty of recruiting headlines leading up to Saturday’s game at the Alamodome.

Unlike the Under Armour All-America Game, where only three players announced commitments, including Five-Star Plus+ linebacker Harold Perkins’ A&M pledge, there’s a long list of players set to announce at the All-American Bowl.

The list is headlined by four-star interior offensive lineman Earnest Greene of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco.

Green ranks as the No. 60 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Despite having Ohio State and Texas in his top schools, Greene appears to be deciding between Alabama and Georgia.

Another top 100 player set to announce his commitment is four-star receiver Kevin Coleman out of St. Louis St. Mary’s. Miami is the big favorite for Missouri’s second-best prospect.

No other school has a greater than 6% chance to land Coleman, according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Florida State and Oregon are still pushing hard to try to land Coleman, though.

We’ll also find out what school four-star EDGE Cyrus Moss of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman ends up at. Moss, who is the No. 83 player in the On3 Consensus, lists Oregon and USC as his top teams. But Arizona State and Miami are also involved.

Other All-American Bowl announcements:

  • On3 Consensus four-star WR C.J. Williams of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei will pick between UCLA and USC. The Trojans are expected to be the pick for the former Notre Dame commitment.
  • On3 Consensus No. 125 Hero Kanu of Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic is expected to pick Ohio State. The Buckeyes have been in command for the defensive lineman’s commitment for months now.
  • Four-star safety Davison Igbinosun of Union, N.J., appears to be leaning toward Ole Miss. Igbinosun previously committed to Rutgers, the school where his brother plays college football. Along with Rutgers, Kentucky is considered Ole Miss’ top competition for the 6-foot-2, 170 pound safety.
  • The No. 245 player in the On3 Consensus, safety Larry Turner-Gooden, seemingly is open between Texas and Colorado heading into his announcement.
  • Four-star linebacker Daniel Martin of Marietta, Ga., is announcing, too, with Vanderbilt the leader heading into the week.
  • Louisville is leading for four-star running back Rayshon Luke of St. John Bosco ahead of his All-American Bowl announcement.
  • Four-star running back Trevor Etienne of Jennings, La., is also announcing. Most observers expect him to pick Florida.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has a forecast for each of the announcements. You can read the RPM predictions here.

Big-time quarterbacks at All-American Bowl

The All-American Bowl features three of the top six quarterbacks in the country and five of the top 10, including five-star signal-callers Cade Klubnik (Clemson) and Drew Allar (Penn State). Klubnik will be on the West squad while Allar will lead the East squad.

College football fans will also get to see Ohio State-bound quarterback Devin Brown and UCLA signee Justyn Martin on the West roster. Martin replaced five-star signee Ty Simpson on the roster.

The East squad will be led by Georgia signee Gunner Stockton, Oklahoma-bound quarterback Nick Evers and Mizzou signee Sam Horn.

All told, there is no quarterback in the All-America Bowl ranked lower than No. 12 in the country.

Time for Marvin Jones to show out?

Georgia five-star EDGE signee Marvin Jones Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage is ranked as the No. 1 player in the On3 rankings. However, he is at No. 16 in the On3 Consensus rankings.

Something’s going to give this week.

Either Jones is going to prove why he was the focus of one of the most intense recruiting battles between Florida State, Georgia, Oklahoma and Alabama and worthy of that No. 1 spot. Or, he’s going to show that his mid-five-star On3 Consensus ranking is more appropriate.

Either way, Jones will be one of the most scrutinized players at the All-American Bowl.

One-one-one with Kiyaunta Goodwin

Five-star offensive tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin was one of the biggest storylines of the early signing period, as kept recruiters and fans waiting for his final decision.

He eventually signed with Kentucky, the school he originally committed to early in the process. But getting to talk to him at length this week at the All-American Bowl might give us insight into just how tough of a final decision it really was between the Wildcats and Michigan State.
