Georgia CB Daniel Harris plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal
Georgia CB Daniel Harris intends to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. That comes after three years spent in Athens.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported his plans to do so on Sunday evening. That now makes him the first departure of the portal cycle this year for the Bulldogs.
“BREAKING: Georgia CB Daniel Harris plans to enter the @TransferPortal, he tells @On3Sports,” Fawcett posted.
That comes as somewhat of an early surprise considering this season is still ongoing for UGA. With the loss by Texas A&M on Friday night, Georgia will play in the SEC Championship against Alabama next weekend on Saturday afternoon, and will go on from there to all but certainly be in the College Football Playoff.
Harris made 27 appearances, making a handful of starts in their secondary, over three seasons spent at Georgia. He finishes his career there with 30 tackles and three deflections for the Bulldogs. That includes seven tackles over eight games played in this year as a junior at UGA.

A Miami native, Harris played his high school football at Gulliver Prep. He was a Top-175 overall recruit there and rated as a four-star in the 2023 recruiting cycle. He also ranked as a Top-20 cornerback in the class and a Top-40 player out of the state of Florida. That’s according to Rivals’ Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Harris would then commit to Georgia, and signed on as part of the No. 2 class in the nation that year per Rivals’ 2023 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Georgia will begin preparations to play in the postseason this upcoming weekend, as they’ll play for the SEC Championship on Saturday and, with it, possibly a bye in the CFP. Some transfers wait for no one, though, pending the timeline, with Harris now set to be the first of the offseason for the Bulldogs once the lone, two-week window opens on January 2nd.
