On Saturday, No. 5 Georgia (6-1, 4-1) will square off against Florida (3-4, 2-2) inside EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. It’ll be the Gators’ first game since firing head coach Billy Napier.

Napier led Florida to a win over Mississippi State in his final outing. However, the school’s administration ultimately decided to part ways with the fourth-year head coach. Now, the Gators will look to finish the season strong with interim Billy Gonzales leading the way.

Of course, Georgia won’t be an easy first opponent for Gonzales. The Bulldogs are coming off a bye week after defeating Ole Miss in Week 8. Since falling to Alabama in Week 5, the Bulldogs have won three consecutive games.

Unfortunately, neither team is expected to be at full-strength for the meeting. Look below to see the latest availability report for each team.

Florida Gators

Georgia Bulldogs

History is on Georgia’s side in the matchup. The Bulldogs have won their last four meetings against Florida, most recently defeating the Gators 34-20 last season. It was Florida quarterback DJ Lagway‘s only loss as a starter in the 2024 campaign.

Moreover, Georgia boasts a 56-44-2 all-time record against the Gators. Georgia looked excellent in its win over Ole Miss earlier this month. In the win, the Bulldogs amassed 510 total yards of offense.

Nobody outshined Georgia QB Gunner Stockton, who tallied 289 passing yards and four touchdowns, while also racking up 59 yards and a score on the ground. Florida will have its hands full on Saturday trying to slow down the Bulldogs.

Nonetheless, Florida’s defense isn’t an easy puzzle to solve. The Gators are only allowing 20 points per game, ranking No. 34 in the country. In their win over Mississippi State, Florida’s defense caused two turnovers. Evidently, the Gators are excited for the challenge this weekend.

“We’ve been preparing hard this week for Georgia,” Gonzales said Monday. “Guys have been back on the football field after last week’s bye. They’ve been doing a fantastic job, a lot of energy, lot of excitement going on right now, and we’re excited to have an opportunity to go play up in Jacksonville this weekend.”

The two teams will clash at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ABC.
