Week 4 of the 2025 college football season provided no shortage of exciting action. In response, the betting odds for the national championship have been updated.

The top spot remains the same from last week, but several outcomes to Week 4 matchups have shifted the list for better or for worse depending on the program. Oklahoma, Indiana, Texas Tech and USC were all big movers in the AP Top 25 Poll — but will that reflect the odds in Vegas?

Ahead of a Week 5 slate that features the likes of Penn State vs Oregon and Alabama vs. Georgia, BetMGM has updated its national championship odds. Here’s how the list shakes up.

Ohio State Buckeyes (+550)

Ohio State’s odds have not shifted from last week. The Buckeyes didn’t play in Week 4, but their status as the odds-on favorite to win the national championship remains the same.

Since beating preseason No. 1 Texas in the season opener, Ohio State has looked every part of its top-overall ranking. In the two games since, Ohio State has outscored its two opponents 107-9 including a 70-0 win over Grambling. They kick off Big Ten play on Saturday against Washington.

Penn State Nittany Lions (+600)

Penn State’s odds could shift either way depending on the outcome of Week 5’s marquee matchup against Oregon. A rematch of last season’s Big Ten Championship game, the Nittany Lions will be looking for revenge over the Ducks on their home turf.

Led by Drew Allar, Penn State has yet to be challenged by its non-conference opponents. They’ll kick off Big Ten play with a bang, but won’t face another ranked opponent until Nov. 1 against Ohio State.

Georgia Bulldogs (+700)

Georgia vs. Alabama is one of the most anticipated games in the SEC every year, and this season doesn’t appear as though it’s going to disappoint. The Crimson Tide have something to prove after losing its season-opener to Florida State, while Georgia is looking to remind the country that they’re national championship-worthy once again.

Texas Longhorns (+700)

Texas has received its share of criticism during the early portion of the 2025 season. Despite this, the Longhorns are tied with Georgia for the best odds to win it all in the SEC. The Longhorns have continued to drop in the AP Poll despite bouncing back to 3-1 after the Ohio State loss.

Much debate has been made of the play of QB Arch Manning so far this season. He has an entire SEC schedule ahead of him to change everyone’s mind.

Oregon Ducks (+700)

Oregon hasn’t faced a challenge so far this season. The Ducks have won all four of their games by an average of 41.5 points. This past weekend, the Ducks beat in-state rival Oregon State 41-7.

That changes on Saturday when they face the Nittany Lions on the road. The matchup is the headlining act of an exciting Week 5 slate, and will have major implications on the Big Ten title race in a couple of months.

LSU Tigers (+1000)

LSU’s offense lived up to expectations during its 46-point win over SE Louisiana during Week 4. Before that, the Tigers were averaging 20 points during the first three games of the season.

It was revealed that LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier has been dealing with a nagging injury during the early portion of the season. He appears to be on the other side of it, and is ready to resume SEC play on Saturday on the road against Ole Miss.

Alabama Crimson Tide (+1300)

Alabama’s Week 1 performance was the talk of the college football world, but for all of the wrong reasons. Losing the Florida State on the road 31-17, the Crimson Tide have been earning their keep with consecutive blowout wins over UL Monroe and Wisconsin.

Including Georgia, the Crimson Tide will play ranked opponents in six of its next seven games. Each matchup provides Alabama a chance to wash the bitter taste from Week 1 out of their mouths.

Miami Hurricanes (+1500)

Three of Miami’s four wins have been over teams that have been ranked at some point this season, and they haven’t played a single ACC game this season. Coming off a decisive 26-7 win over in-state rival Florida, the ‘Canes will enjoy its bye week this Saturday.

Once they return, they’ll be headlining Week 6 against Florida State in another ranked matchup. If they don’t already, the Hurricanes will have the most impressive resume in college football heading into the rest of ACC play. Though, it’s the toughest test Miami has left on its schedule.

Oklahoma Sooners (+1500)

The Sooners’ undefeated start to the season has been highlighted by the play of quarterback John Mateer under center. The Washington State transfer has Oklahoma 4-0 and leads the team in passing and rushing.

Oklahoma has two ranked wins (Michigan, Auburn) so far this season. Six of the Sooners’ last eight games to end the regular season are teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25, so they still have several opportunities to prove why they’re a national title contender.

Texas A&M Aggies (+1800)

Texas A&M was idle during Week 4, but its 41-40 road win over Notre Dame is one of the most impressive of the early season. At 3-0, the Aggies host Auburn on Saturday fresh off a loss to Oklahoma in Norman.

Mike Elko’s group have the opportunity to get off to a fast start to SEC play against the Tigers. As of now, they won’t play another ranked team until Oct. 25 against LSU on the road. Texas A&M can pile up the wins early before the back half of their schedule ramps up.
