Pac-12 Tournament Day 1: Live Updates

The Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off on March 8th in Las Vegas. After the first round on Wednesday, the quarterfinals will be played on Thursday. After that the semifinals are on Friday with the championship on Saturday, March 11th.

The night ended with Arizona State taking on Oregon State. After a frustrating season, the Beavers will need to make a run in the Pac-12 Tournament. However, the Sun Devils stand in their way, having already beaten Oregon State twice.

Bobby Hurley and the Sun Devils made it three-in-row over the Beavers, topping Oregon State, 63-57. Arizona State moves on to face USC in a game that will be televised on ESPN 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Colorado 74, Washington 68

Washington and Colorado got things started in the first game of the day, but struggled to put points on the board early. Colorado carries a 28-20 lead into the locker room. Both teams brought identical records into the day, each finishing the regular season 16-15 overall and 8-12 in the Pac-12.

The scoring output picked up significantly in the second half, as the Buffs held off multiple runs to secure the 74-68 win and advance to the second round against No. 1 seed UCLA. Colorado was led by Julian Hammond III with 21 points and Tristan da Silva with 18.

Washington State 63, California 46

Washington State cruised to an easy 63-46 win over Cal in a game that was not much of a contest. The Cougars led by 14 at halftime and did not let up from there. As a whole, Washington State shot 41.7% from the floor and was led by TJ Bamba in scoring with 17 points.

The first half of action between Washington State and Cal, was all about the Cougars. Washington State led 35-21 lead into the halftime locker room. The Cougars shot 39.4% from the floor, while the Golden Bears shot just 37%. The Cougars will now play Oregon tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. PT.

Stanford 73, Utah 62

The third game of the night got off to a favorable start for Stanford over Utah. The Cardinal won the first half of the game and took a 34-27 lead into the locker room off of 37.5% shooting from the floor. Stanford was led by Spencer Jones in that half, who put up a team-high 10 points in the first half.

Things didn’t get any better for the Utes in the second half, as they never got closer than seven points in the game. Stanford shot an impressive 41.9% from the floor and cruised to the 73-62 win. The Cardinal will now face Arizona on Thursday at 6 p.m. PT.
