During an appearance on Get Up, college football analyst Paul Finebaum reacted to the videos of an apparent attack in the tunnel following the MichiganMichigan State game. He also called the response from Michigan State officials “garbage.” At the same time, he has praised Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh for his response to the situation.

“I give Coach Harbaugh enormous credit for showing grace under pressure because I think a lot of people would’ve just lost their minds, but he understands, Greenie, what’s at stake here and there’s more than just apologies. There’s a criminal element to this,” Paul Finebaum said.

“He said it, and I think most people agree, that criminal charges could very well be filed here.”

Paul Finebaum then turned his attention to the Michigan State officials, whose response he found to be incredibly poor.

“What really bothered me is these blanket apologies that Michigan State offered from the president down to the head coach and athletic director. I mean, that’s garbage,” Paul Finebaum said. “You just can’t issue a statement. Much more needs to be done, and so far I haven’t seen very much that meets that standard.”

Robert Griffin III, a former Heisman Trophy winner who now works as an analyst for ESPN, was also on the set. He described what happened as being “disgraceful.”

“Listen, college football, the game that we love so dearly, what happened in that tunnel was disgraceful,” Griffin said. “At the end of the day, if you want to go out and dominate your opponent, you do it on the football field. Once the game is over, all that stuff has to subside.”

Heather Dinich added questions about the procedure of the tunnel at Michigan and how this could happen. She wants to know if there is a way to prevent this kind of incident in the future and said that she will be trying to speak to Michigan AD Warde Manuel about the incident.
