The Early Signing Period starts Wednesday, and recruiting races across the country are boiling hot right now as teams look to lock in their recruits. It is even hotter among conference rivals looking to gain any advantage upon their local foes for the next few seasons.

Here’s the 2023 Pac-12 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, as of Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.

1. Oregon (90.866)
3 five-stars | 14 four-stars | 11 three-stars | 30 total recruits
Top Commit: Denton (Texas) Guyer safety Peyton Bowen, No. 13 in On3 Consensus
Summary: They lost Dante Moore on Monday and had a nearly perfect response to losing such a commit. They flipped Bowen, Lake Stevens (Wash.) four-star running back Jayden Limar, Long Beach (Calif.) Long Beach Poly four-star cornerback Daylen Austin and Dripping Springs (Texas) four-star quarterback Austin Novosad. Plus Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco five-star defensive lineman Matayo Uiagalelei committed and it looks like Palo Alto (Calif.) Menlo-Atherton wide receiver Jurrion Dickey is staying in the class. Caleb Presley did flip to Washington, but it’s still a wildly successful day.

2. USC (91.593)
3 five-stars | 8 four-stars | 9 three-stars | 20 total recruits
Top Commit: Los Alamitos (Calif.) quarterback Malachi Nelson, No. 2 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Lincoln Riley has built a really interesting class in his first full recruiting cycle. He has three five-star recruits, which is tied for the most in the country. Nelson and wide receiver Zachariah Branch make up two of the nation’s top four payers. But the class still ranks outside the top 10 nationally, while the other two teams with three five-stars are No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 in the country.

3. Utah (88.607)
0 five-stars | 7 four-stars | 13 three-stars | 20 total recruits
Top Commit: Gilbert (Ariz.) Highland offensive tackle Caleb Lomu, No. 144 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Lomu and fellow four-star offensive tackle Spencer Fano make great bookends to this really great Utes recruiting class. There are six four-star prospects in total in what is shaping up to be the best Utah class in at least a few cycles. While they don’t have a player like Lander Barton, an On3 five-star in 2022, is a deep class.

4. Washington (88.194)
0 five-stars | 6 four-stars | 13 three-stars | 40 total recruits
Top Commit: Sammamish (Wash.) Rainier Beach College Prep Trailblazers cornerback Curley Reed, No. 161 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The Huskies recruiting class was not great last season — it ranked 86th in the country as the program underwent a coaching change. Credit is due for Kalen DeBoer, who turned around the team in his first year and now has a recruiting class inside the top 30. And he flipped Presley on National Signing Day to round the group together.

5. UCLA (87.805)
1 five-stars | 2 four-stars | 11 three-stars | 14 total recruits
Top Commit: Detroit Martin Luther King quarterback Dante Moore, No. 9 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Is Dante Moore the best quarterback recruit Chip Kelly has ever landed? It is a more than reasonable question to ask. But the question after that becomes is Dante Moore the best quarterback Chip Kelly will have ever coached in college? That’s a question that can’t be answered for a few years. But if Moore plays well enough to make that latter question realistic, the Bruins may be College Football Playoff contenders sooner rather than later.

6. Stanford (87.070)
0 five-stars | 3 four-stars | 12 three-stars | 16 total recruits
Top Commit: Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco cornerback Jshawn Frausto-Ramos, No.356 in On3 Consensus
Summary: David Shaw is gone, and some of the program’s top commits have departed in the wake of his decision to step down. But the class still holds up very nicely among the Pac-12 and even nationally, too. Four-star quarterback Myles Jackson, who moved up from the 2024 class, is an interesting commit for Troy Taylor’s team.

7. Oregon State (85.947)
0 five-stars | 2 four-stars | 16 three-stars | 18 total recruits
Top Commit: Las Vegas Spring Valley defensive lineman Kelze Howard, No. 252 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Howard is one of the best commits the Beavers have landed in multiple cycle, marking a huge recruiting win for head coach Jonathan Smith. Downey (Calif.) four-star quarterback Aidan Chiles was also a major win as the signal-caller was a major riser this past fall.

8. Arizona (85.946)
0 five-stars | 1 four-stars | 20 three-stars | 22 total recruits
Top Commit: Colorado Springs (Colo.) Vista Ridge quarterback Brayden Dorman, No. 338 in On3 Consensus
Summary: Dorman is the cornerstone of the class as its lone four-star player. Interestingly, this class ranks as much less top-heavy than last year’s. The 2022 Wildcats group ranked 29th in the nation and third in the Pac-12 thanks to four four-star recruits, including top-50 recruit Tetairoa McMillan.

9. Colorado (86.781)
0 five-stars | 2 four-stars | 13 three-stars | 16 total recruits
Top Commit: Derby (Kan.) running back Dylan Edwards, No. 167 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The biggest question mark in all of recruiting right now is what moves does Deion Sanders have up his sleeve over the next few weeks. The new Buffaloes head coach made major moves last year during the Early Signing Period, and there is set to be a recruiting bump in Boulder because of him. But how much of a rise happens remains to be seen.

10. Arizona State (85.242)
0 five-stars | 1 four-stars | 15 three-stars | 17 total recruits
Top Commit: Zachary (La.) EDGE Ashley Williams, No. 437 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The Sun Devils recruiting has been in a tailspin the past two cycles due to looming NCAA investigations and the firing of Herm Edwards. But there is some potential for momentum on the trail in the form of new head coach Kenny Dillingham. There have been seven commits since he took over the job.

10. Washington State (85.048)
0 five-stars | 0 four-stars | 20 three-stars | 22 total recruits
Top Commit: Grand Prairie (Texas) Keller Central safety Adrian Wilson, No. 928 in On3 Consensus
Summary: The Cougars are right around where they were last year in the recruiting cycle at 59th overall compared to 63rd in 2022. They do have an On3 Consensus top-10 junior college prospect in the class in wide receiver DT Sheffield out of the Northwest Mississippi C.C. Rangers.

12. California (81.094)
0 five-stars | 1 four-stars | 7 three-stars | 10 total recruits
Top Commit: Salinas (Calif.) wide receiver Nyziah Hunter, No. 365 in On3 Consensus
Summary: It is not great for the Golden Bears on the recruiting trail. They have a four-star commit, which the two teams above them in the Pac-12 can’t claim. But they only have 10 prospects total and rank 95th overall in the country.
