Adidas signs top high school basketball recruits to NIL deals

Adidas continues to build out its athlete roster. The company announced an impressive group of top high school basketball recruits signed NIL deals and will be part of the Class of 2025.
Eight athletes are on board, including Kaleena Smith and Adam Oumiddoch, who already signed with adidas. Top 2026 boys basketball prospects, Caleb Holt, Tay Kinney and Anthony Thompson are on board, along with girls basketball standouts Oliviyah Edwards and Kate Harpring. Bruce Branch III is also on board as a highly rated prospect from the 2027 cycle.
The new crew of athletes are part of adidas’ plan to support young athletes with resources, opportunities and a platform to reach their full potential. Additionally, the company is further investing in the NIL space after making multiple splashes last year.
Oumiddoch was one of four Overtime Elite standouts to join adidas as ambassadors. Arkansas forward Karter Knox, Louisville guard Mikel Brown Jr. and former North Carolina guard Ian Jackson – now at St. John’s – were also part of the initiative.
On the football side, adidas signed top recruits such as Madden Iamaleava, Vernell Brown III and Chris Henry Jr. to NIL deals as part of its adizero 7 Class. That came ahead of the Overtime OT7 Finals in Tampa as adidas and Overtime continued to work together as part of a multi-year partnership dating back to 2023.

Adidas capitalizing on basketball NIL potential
Adidas’ latest group of signees includes some of the top names in high school basketball, led by Caleb Holt. He has a $1.3 million On3 NIL Valuation, which ranks No. 10 in the high school basketball NIL rankings and No. 82 in the On3 NIL 100, the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.
Anthony Thompson also sits at No. 28 in the high school basketball NIL rankings, followed by Tay Kinney at No. 40 and Bruce Branch at No. 55.
Holt is also the highest-rated player of the group, checking in as a five-star prospect out of Loganville (GA) Grayson. He is the No. 5 overall player out of the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Houston and Kentucky recently met with Holt for in-home visits, and Ole Miss received his lone official visit so far. On3’s Joe Tipton also had more intel on his recruitment earlier this month.
