daniel jeremiah nfl mock draft

Oh, my. Daniel Jeremiah is glancing into the NFL Draft future and he is seeing history being made. On Tuesday, his latest mock predicted four quarterbacks in the top four picks.

Wait, there is more zaniness, or chaos Jeremiah teased on Twitter. The NFL Network draft analyst believes the Jets will gift Aaron Rodgers with the best wide receiver in the draft. And the Bears, who pick twice in the top ten, land a duo of the best quarterback and one of the best receivers.

Rather than stick to the exact draft order, Jeremiah predicted potential trades, based on the chatter he is hearing from teams layered with needs. So let’s take a look.

1. Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams, QB, USC

The Bears cleared the way for drafting Williams when they traded Justin Fields to the Steelers last weekend. It is a win-win for all involved.

Although there is some chatter suggesting Chicago should go with Jayden Daniels, Williams still is on track to land in the Windy City. Fun fact. Quarterbacks have been the top pick in seven of the past ten drafts.

2. Washington Commanders: Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina

It seems to be a consensus that Maye will be the second quarterback off the NFL Draft board. Jeremiah is no different with his choice.

And the Commanders, like the Bears, set up their selection by trading starter Sam Howell to the Seahawks. So at least in this mock, the Commanders are swapping one Tar Heel quarterback for another.

3. New England Patriots: Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

And here we have another quarterback, with Daniels going to New England. The Patriots also cleared space for a rookie quarterback by trading Mac Jones to the Jaguars.

Daniels is a terrific playmaker, a trait that would help wake up the New England offense. It was moribund last season.

4. Minnesota Vikings (trade via Cardinals): J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan

And here we have the chaos Jeremiah promised. The Vikings, after losing quarterback Kirk Cousins to the Falcons and backup Josh Dobbs to the 49ers, make a trade to jump to four.

Get this, if four quarterbacks go in the top four picks, it will be the first time in NFL Draft history. Last year leaned that way, with three QBs in the top four, including the opening two selections.

5. New York Jets (trade via Chargers): Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

Wait, there is another trade! And if Jeremiah is correct on this one, the Jets are moving to fifth to catch Harrison, the Ohio State star who fell behind the wave of quarterbacks.

The Jets, fingers crossed, get a receiver for Aaron Rodgers. Harrison will complement Garrett Wilson, another former Buckeye sensation from two drafts ago.

6. New York Giants: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

The Giants may be mad that the Jets jumped them in the NFL Draft, but they can get over it. Elite receivers are plentiful.

Some mock drafts suggest that NYC will use the pick on a quarterback. But Jeremiah says to take Nabers at this spot.

7. Tennessee Titans: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame

The Titans are breaking up the offensive skill position party by selecting the best offensive tackle in the first round. Offensive linemen, like quarterbacks and receivers, will dominate the NFL Draft discussion.

Tennessee needs an anchor for their line. And if Alt lives up to expectations, he can be that player for a long time.

8. Atlanta Falcons: Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama

Finally, there is a defensive player off the board. Of course, it is the guy who excels at chasing the quarterback.

The Falcons got their quarterback in Kirk Cousins, so in this NFL Draft, they can focus on defense and a player like Dallas Turner. Last year, it was all about the offensive and running back Bijan Robinson.

9. Chicago Bears: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

The Bears are the lucky team with two picks in the top ten. What better way to launch the Williams era in Chicago than selecting a fantastic receiver to help him out.

Odunze is the third player of the fantastic receiving trio in this year’s NFL Draft. The Bears also signed Kennan Allen in free agency, so Williams could be set.

10. Los Angeles Chargers (trade via Jets): Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State

New coach Jim Harbaugh makes his first pick in charge of the Chargers. Of course he goes with an offensive lineman to open this NFL Draft.

Jeremiah notes that Fuaga could probably start out as a guard, then eventually move outside to right tackle. Scouts consider Fuaga a solid run blocker.

15. Indianapolis Colts: Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
16. Seattle Seahawks: Troy Fautanu, OT, Washington
