Alabama lands commitment from touted OT Jared Doughty adding to Top 10 class

Atlanta (Ga.) Banneker offensive tackle Jared Doughty committed to Alabama during his visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend.
It was a trip highlighted by the Crimson Tide’s victory over Vanderbilt.
“I love everything about it,” Doughty said.
The 6-foot-5 1/2, 300-pound Doughty chose to play for head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff over Georgia, Ohio State, Auburn, Missouri and others. He becomes commit No. 22 for Alabama in the 2026 cycle, adding to a class the Rivals Industry previously ranked No. 7 nationally.
Rivals tabs Doughty as the No. 35 offensive tackle in the class. His lead recruiter was offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic. He found what he was looking for in a school.
“A place that feels like home, had has to have my major and a place that will shape me as a person outside of football.”

Doughty spoke highly of Alabama prior to his visit.
“Coach Kap hits me up a lot, and Coach Courtney Morgan too,” he told Rivals Chad Simmons. “A lot of my family is from Tuscaloosa, and my mom is a really big fan. If I went there, it would be a dream come true for her.”
Offensive line was a point of emphasis for Alabama in this 2026 cycle. Doughty joins a class that already included four-stars Samuelu Utu and Chris Booker along with Bear Fretwell.
