Remaining uncommitted blue-chip prospects in 2026 cycle

This past weekend was likely the last that’ll feature myriad blue-chip commitments this summer. Heading into football season, there’s not much top talent left on the board in the 2026 cycle.
As of Monday, Aug. 4, just 14 of the 400 blue-chip prospects in the class — per the Rivals Industry Ranking — remain uncommitted. That does include a trio of five-stars and six top-100 recruits overall.
Of course, decommitments and flips will run the rumor mill this fall, but many programs have already filled out an entire pledge list and are now looking to solidify things across the next few months. More big decisions are set to come later this month, too.
Below are the 14 remaining uncommitted blue-chip prospects in the 2026 cycle to date:
5-star RB Savion Hiter
School: Louisa County (Va.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 8 NATL. (No. 1 RB)
Contenders: Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State Tennessee
Last month, Hiter locked in his commitment date and will now announce his decision on Aug. 19. With just a couple weeks to go, the intel from Rivals’ national insiders continues to point towards Michigan and Tennessee. Hiter has kept a lowkey recruitment down the stretch and isn’t giving much insight on where things stand. He’s ready to come off the board before his senior season, though. He’s long been the nation’s top running back and remains the biggest domino yet to fall this summer.
5-star S Bralan Womack
School: Hartfield Academy (Miss.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 21 NATL. (No. 3 S)
Contenders: Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, Texas A&M
Later this month, Womack will reveal his college choice on Aug. 21. His recruitment has also been hard to pinpoint this summer, but Ohio State was tabbed as the frontrunner before his round of official visits. The Buckeyes are still trending in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, but the other finalists continue to swing, too. On Monday, Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong tabbed the Womack recruitment as one that “could prove to be fluid down the stretch.”
5-star IOL Darius Gray
School: St. Christopher’s School (Va.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 31 NATL. (No. 1 IOL)
Contenders: Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee
One day after Womack announces, Gray is set to do the same. He locked in an Aug. 22 decision date last month and told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong that he’s still working to figure out where he’ll play his college football next year. The arrows have pointed toward LSU and South Carolina this summer, while Tennessee has remained a prevalent factor, too. Wiltfong provided an update on the Gray recruitment on Monday morning.
4-star EDGE Jake Kreul
School: IMG Academy (Fla.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 41 NATL. (No. 8 EDGE)
Contenders: Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas
Kreul will perhaps be the final uncommitted top-100 prospect left on the board, as he continues to maintain that he isn’t close to a decision and is looking to take some fall visits before coming to a decision. He updated his recruitment with Rivals’ John Garcia Jr. this weekend, stating that his timeline will likely lead him toward an October commitment. Oklahoma continues to trend in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
4-star WR Davian Groce
School: Lone Star (Texas)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 60 NATL. (No. 6 WR)
Contenders: Baylor, Florida, Houston, Oklahoma
Groce is yet to set a commitment date, but intel from Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman continues to suggest that a decision could be right around the corner for the elite pass-catcher. He logged official visits to each of his finalists, but Oklahoma has all the momentum, per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine. Groce is the only blue-chip prospect out of Texas this cycle that remains uncommitted to date.
4-star WR Jase Mathews
School: Greene County (Miss.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 83 NATL. (No. 9 WR)
Contenders: Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Mathews is next in line to come off the board — he’s set to announce this Friday, Aug. 8. The quartet of SEC contenders have wrangled for top position all summer long, but according to Rivals’ Chad Simmons, one program is picking up some steam with a commitment just four days away. Another twist or turn could be in store late, but the No. 4 player in Mississippi will be the next major domino to fall, barring a surprise decision.
4-star ATH CJ Sadler
School: Cass Technical (Mich.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 123 NATL. (No. 6 ATH)
Contenders: Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina
Sadler is set to commit this month, too. He’s got an Aug. 15 decision date set and will choose between four intriguing finalists. Michigan is in the in-state program, but the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine has favored North Carolina since Sadler logged his June official visits. The Tar Heels and Colorado have been battling near the top. Sadler updated his process with Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong over the weekend.
4-star DL Elijah Golden
School: Cardinal Mooney (Fla.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 191 NATL. (No. 19 DL)
Contenders: Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech
Like Jase Mathews, Golden will also announce his commitment this weekend. He previously pushed back his decision, with Oklahoma trying to gain steam on Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish continue to sit in the driver’s seat with a decision set for this Saturday, Aug. 9, though. Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong logged a pick in favor of Marcus Freeman and Co. on Monday. The Irish have the edge, per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.

4-star DL Emanuel Ruffin
School: Bessemer City (Ala.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 219 NATL. (No. 23 DL)
Contenders: Many
Ruffin had previously eyed a July 4 commitment, but he postponed things and has not set a new date. He told Rivals’ Chad Simmons last month that he was “rushing things” and wanted to slow down. LSU and Ohio State were his top two earlier this summer, but he’s back to being wide open and will likely log some game visits this fall before entering decision mode later on this year. Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Penn State are among the others keeping communication.
4-star LB DQ Forkpa
School: IMG Academy (Fla.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 252 NATL. (No. 14 LB)
Contenders: Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan
Like Ruffin, Forkpa also postponed a July commitment. He was trending heavily toward the Florida Gators — and still is per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine — but told Rivals’ John Garcia Jr. two days before the announcement that wasn’t sure on his decision. Both FSU and Michigan have continued to come on strong after June official visits and will battle the Gators as Forkpa now eyes a fall commitment.
4-star LB JaMichael Garrett
School: Baton Rouge Central (La.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 253 NATL. (No. 15 LB)
Contenders: Many
A longtime Auburn commit, Garrett came back on the board this spring and has kept things open since. Myriad SEC programs are in the mix, along with the likes of Colorado, Miami and Georgia Tech. Garrett tabbed Ole Miss as his leader when speaking with Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman last month. It remains to be seen when the four-star will come back off the board, but it’ll likely come some time in the fall.
4-star RB TJ Hodges
School: Bryant (Ark.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 266 NATL. (No. 20 RB)
Contenders: Arkansas, Missouri, others
Hodges is an under-the-radar blue-chipper who hasn’t carried a very notable recruitment to this point. Arkansas and Missouri each emerged as top contenders earlier this summer, but as reported by Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman on July 31 — “there’s been a series of hurdles outside of football keeping Hodges from locking in his decision.” Game visits this fall could now be on the table for the rising burner.
4-star EDGE Andrew Rogers
School: Grimsley (N.C.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 324 NATL. (No. 32 EDGE)
Contenders: Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Michigan State, Virginia Tech
After reclassifying to the 2026 cycle, Rogers told Rivals’ Chad Simmons that he’ll now announce a commitment on Aug. 22. He tabbed his top five schools, but also noted that the likes of Miami, South Carolina and Tennessee were in the mix. It remains to be seen who will emerge for the blue-chipper down the stretch.
4-star IOL Maxwell Robinson
School: Derby (Kan.)
Rivals Industry Ranking: No. 380 NATL. (No. 34 IOL)
Contenders: Many
Despite seeing plenty others come off the board this summer, Robinson has shown no signs of doing the same. His offer list is prevalent and he’ll get a look at some top schools once again this fall. Kansas and Kansas State are involved as the in-state programs, while the likes of Oklahoma and Penn State will look to be involved moving forward.
