West Virginia senior transfer forward Jackson Fields is expected to miss the first few weeks of the 2025-26 regular season per a report.

Fields, 6-foot-8, 225-pounds, underwent surgery in the off-season after an injury to his non-shooting hand and head coach Ross Hodge had said previously that he would be available when he regained strength and flexibility in his wrist.

Following the exhibition against Wheeling Hodge said that the coaches should have a timeline on his return this week and Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports that Hodge indicated that it will be a few weeks.

Fields transferred to West Virginia from Troy where he averaged 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season.
