BOL Roundtable: Running Visitors List for Alabama – Tennessee

The Tide have already won a key battle over Tennessee

Before The Third Saturday in October arrives, Alabama already won an important battle against Tennessee off the field this year. On Aug. 5, the Crimson Tide landed a commitment from Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School wide receiver Amari Jefferson. Jefferson, the No. 21 receiver in the 2024 On300, chose Bama over the in-state Volunteers and Georgia Bulldogs.

Jefferson recently spoke with BOL about the status of his commitment with Nick Saban‘s program. He also discussed his recruiting pitch to a top prospect considering Alabama and his thoughts on Bama’s season to that point. Click HERE to read.

Alabama and Tennessee are both pursuing five-star prospects

Saban and Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel have a couple of uncommitted five-star recruits high on their respective radars. Those are Jordan Seaton in the 2024 class, and George MacIntyre in the 2025 cycle.

OL Jordan Seaton, IMG Academy in Bradenton (Fla.): Jordan Seaton is the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country. He has visited Alabama three times this year; those being for their A-Day Game in April, an official visit in June, and their Sept. 9 matchup with Texas. Tennessee received a visit from Seaton just under three weeks ago. Seaton has previously spoken highly of the Tide, and had the following to say about Coach Saban earlier this month.

“Coach Saban is the coach, they say,” Seaton previously told BOL. “Everybody wants to play for him. Having an interest from him… it would mean a lot to play for him. He’s been in this game for so long. Just the knowledge that he has, I feel like you cannot pass that opportunity up.”

A decision from Seaton is expected to be announced in December.

2025 QB George MacIntyre, Brentwood Academy in Nashville (Tenn.): Alabama already holds a commitment from Five-Star Plus+ 2024 quarterback Julian Sayin. They’ve also put themselves in a good position for George MacIntyre, the No. 2 QB in the 2025 class. MacIntyre has visited Bama several times in 2023 (including the Texas game), and could return for another contest this season. He’s also a top target for in-state Tennessee, and just visited the Volunteers this past weekend.

MacIntyre included both Alabama and Tennessee in his top 10 last week. It remains to be seen when he will announce his college decision. Bama currently leads for MacIntyre on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

A couple of more 2024 prospects of interest for both programs

A recruit who is well-known by Alabama fans by now is Meridian (Miss.) running back Daniel Hill.

Hill, who was offered by Bama on March 5, 2022, has visited Tuscaloosa over a dozen times throughout his recruitment. That includes two game day visits to The Capstone for Alabama’s games against Ole Miss and Texas this season. He’ll also be in town for this weekend’s game against the Volunteers.

Alabama and Tennessee both landed in Hill’s top three last week. The South Carolina Gamecocks round out his final three. Hill has not yet set a commitment date but his father, Demetrius Hill, spoke with BOL this week about a potential decision timeline and why Bama is one of the final three schools in his recruitment.

The Tide and the Volunteers are also battling it out for a prospect who is currently committed elsewhere: Elias Williams. Williams committed to the Missouri Tigers back on Sept. 1 over a final group that featured Florida State, Indiana, and UCF. Four days prior, however, Alabama’s Freddie Roach extended an offer to Williams. Tennessee followed suit the next month by offering the 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive lineman on Sept. 16.

The Vols received a visit from Williams this past weekend for their game against Texas A&M. Bama is set to host Williams for an official visit next month. The On300 recruit, who is a Class of 2024 prospect, recently spoke with BamaOnLine about his contact with Alabama’s staff and what interests him about the Tide.
