Alabama had as good of a previous 48 hours as the program could’ve hoped for.

On Tuesday, Nick Saban‘s staff flipped five-star offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor from the Iowa Hawkeyes. Proctor followed through with his commitment on Wednesday morning by signing his Letter of Intent with the school.

Along with Proctor, the Crimson Tide signed all 25 of the commits that they had heading into Early Signing Period. They also added their top two remaining targets in the Class of 2023.

On Wednesday afternoon, Bama reeled in signatures from James Smith and Qua Russaw. The dynamic defensive tandem committed to the Tide on ESPN over Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and others. They both check in as five-star prospects and the top-two seniors in the state of Alabama.

Not surprisingly, today’s additions of both Russaw and Smith led to plenty of reactions online after their announcements.

Here are some social media posts from Alabama’s commits and even a former Bama football player following Russaw’s and Smith’s commitments.

Richard Young has been one of the more vocal members of Alabama’s 2023 class ever since he joined the fold in late July. He’s been active in the pursuit of the likes of Keon Keeley and Kadyn Proctor, and tweeted “2 more left” following Proctor’s commitment on Tuesday.

Young was more than happy to see a couple of more five-stars join Bama’s class.

Mack Wilson, who trains at Madhouse Athletic Training (where Russaw and Smith train) in Montgomery, accompanied the pair of five-stars during their A-Day Game visit in April. The former Alabama football player tweeted at them following their commitments to Bama.

Madhouse’s trainers were at today’s ceremony, and tweeted the following picture with Russaw and Smith.

Alabama tight end commit Ty Lockwood also took to social media shortly after Russaw’s and Smith’s announcements.

Jaylen Mbakwe, Bama’s highest-rated commit in the 2024 class, also shared his reaction on Wednesday afternoon.
