The University of Florida has landed its second commitment for the class of 2023.

Newly-offered wide receiver Tyree Patterson, who is fresh off attending the Orange and Blue Game, just pulled himself off the market on Easter Sunday.

During the 2021 season, Patterson hauled in 53 catches for 1,078 yards and 13 touchdowns. He possesses additional offers from the likes of Liberty, UMass and North Texas.

Four-star athlete and Georgia native, Aaron Gates, is the other prospect is UF’s 2023 class.

On Friday, GO included Patterson in our story: Five Orange and Blue Game visitors we are keeping close tabs on.

According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Patterson is a three-star prospect and the No. 224 wide receiver.

“The reason I picked Florida was because of my relationship with the head coach, the wide receiver coaches and the whole coaching staff overall. They are all good people I could be around in the future,” Patterson told Gators Online this afternoon.

“The environment and the vibe out there is amazing; I like it out there. Every time I’ve visited. they have made it feel like home. Another reason is my parents love the coaches and Gainesville too, so that was a very important part for me committing to UF.

“I just love what the Gators have planned for the future.”

The Gators have been pushing all the right buttons with Patterson from the start

Napier’s staff has been reaching out on a daily basis for quite some time, and as Patterson noted above, made him feel like a priority during last month’s visit.

“All the coaches have been talking to me every day and making sure I’m all right since the visit,” Patterson previously told GO. “I talk to coach KC, coach Billy Napier, coach Doeker, coach Joe Hamilton..I talk to a few other coaches too.

“It’s just the environment and how they treated me when I went on my unofficial visit. It wasn’t just a regular unofficial visit; it felt like home with the way the coaches treated me. Everybody is cool.

“Also, the facilities and everything that coach Billly Napier and the wide receiver coaches have planned for the future. I just like it up there. That was my first time ever up there. That was also my first unofficial visit ever.”

To have a school like Florida extend a scholarship offer, you obviously have to be doing something right.

For those people who have not seen him play, Patterson previously provided GO with a brief scouting report.

“I think they just like my game, my releases, how I run my routes and get past defenders,” Patterson said.
