Amaree Williams, the 4-star 2025 edge from Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin, had high praise for Florida after taking part in the program’s Friday Night Lights camp.

“This is my second time (at Florida),” Williams said. ”It’s an amazing place. Just a great atmosphere, great people. They keep on trying to get us back.”

Williams is among the top players in the country for the 2025 class. He’s currently the No. 10 edge and No. 66 overall recruit according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Friday, he got coached up by Florida edge coach Mike Peterson. According to Williams, he recorded a 4.63-second 40 time, 37-inch vertical leap and 10 feet, 8-inch broad jump.

“Successful day,” Williams said. “Just work really. Just getting some work against these guys. I was able to go against my partners, Jacob Mosley and Matt [McKenzie] — and just work.”

Overall, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Williams seemed to come away impressed by the operation in Gainesville.

“They really just work on building a good group of men,” Williams said. “Even on and off the field, they work on doing the stuff that you don’t want to do. Just staying disciplined. And just getting at it. … Really just good people. They try to stay in contact when they can. “

While at Florida, Williams also spent time with Gators coach Billy Napier.

“Great guy,” Williams said. “This was my third time taking to him personally. Just a great man.”

Is Florida a factor in this recruitment?

“Yes sir,” Williams said. “They’re not just telling me words and telling me they can do this, this, and this for you. They can actually do it. They showed it on paper, that they’ve got people to the league, like Kair Elam. He comes from my home school. And, you know, Benjamin grad, and he went first round.”

According to Williams, “the plan” is for him to return to Gainesville this fall for a game.

“Some schools that have really sticked out to me, that really are onto me, Georgia is a big one, Tennessee, Penn State, UF,” Williams said. “Those are all really big factors in my recruitment because they’ve been on me.”
