Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County 4-star recruit Tavion Wallace, one of the top linebackers in the country, has narrowed his recruitment to 12 schools, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

These schools made the cut: Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, MichiganMissouri, South Carolina, Tennessee.

Wallace, younger brother to Kentucky linebacker Trevin Wallace (who is headed to the NFL), is the nation’s No. 44 overall prospect, No. 4 linebacker and No. 9 player in Georgia in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The Gators are expected to get Wallace on campus again April 9. It’s not yet known if he will officially visit Billy Napier’s program.

As it stands now, Florida might have a bit of an uphill climb to land him. But obviously, the picture will become more clear after the spring.

Per On3’s Chad Simmons: “The buzz: Florida State continues to trend for Tavion Wallace. The linebacker out of Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County is high on the Seminoles because of relationships and comfortability. Others are in the mix though. This spring, Wallace plans to visit LSU on March 9, South Carolina on March 23, Florida on April 9 and Florida on April 12. Wallace could work in a visit to Auburn and Georgia as well this spring. He has lined up official visits to Georgia June 7-9 and South Carolina June 21-23. He is finalizing an official visit with Florida State as well. Wallace wants to commit later this summer.”

Kentucky could be another program to track, given his family ties to the Wildcats.

“My brother went there, so it’s always been love with them for the past three years. The coaches treat me just like they treat him,” Wallace told KSR about the Wildcats last month. “I know if that was the school to choose, I’d be safe and it would feel like home up there in Lexington.”

Tavion Wallace Scouting Summary

On3’s scouting and rankings team writes this about the 6-foot-1, 197-pound Wallace as a prospect:

“One of the most athletic defensive prospects in the 2025 recruiting cycle who consistently flashes on the film with his explosiveness and ability to detonate ball carriers. Long speed for the linebacker position is rare. Member of his high school’s 400 and 800-meter relay teams during his sophomore track and field season. Ran an incredible 10.84 100m and an equally impressive 22.44 200m during his freshman track and field season. Unverified size but listed at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds.

“Will need to add mass throughout his frame but has an excellent build in order to sit at 220-225 pounds as a freshman in college. If he can carry the extra weight and maintain his burst and top-end speed his ceiling is limitless. Should be one of the more sought-after players in the entire country.”
