Michai Boireau is back on board with the Florida Gators.

But, now he’s back in the class.

Boireau, a 3-star defensive lineman from Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside, has committed to Billy Napier and Co. This is his second pledge to the Gators. He previously committed to Florida over the summer only to back away from the commitment in September.

Boireau on Saturday posted the following message on X, the app formerly known as Twitter:

“First and foremost, I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for supporting me through this process. I would like to say thank you to all the schools that have given me an opportunity and believed in me. Also, I would like to thank the most high for giving me to ability to play this sport. After talking to my family and loved ones and lots of consideration. I will be committing to THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA!!! Go Gators PS: Gator Nation i’m back my bad for leaving be i want yall to know im back
for good!!!

Boireau, listed at 6-foot-5 and 350 pounds, is the No. 71 defensive line recruit in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings.

Boireau’s commitment comes at an unusual time. Florida fired defensive line coach Sean Spencer on Monday and his replacement has not yet been named.

Florida now is off to a good start in December after a rough November that saw the Gators lose three commitments. Four-star cornerback Wardell Mack flipped to Texas; 4-star linebacker Jamonta Waller flipped to Auburn; and 4-star defensive lineman Nasir Johnson flipped to Georgia.

Gators graduate assistant/defense Kali James Jr. attended Boireau’s game Friday night. James is on the road recruiting while Napier looks for someone to replace Spencer.

Boireau is Florida’s loine true defensive lineman in the 2024 class.

Five-star recruit LJ McCray and 4-star recruit Amaris Williams are listed as defensive linemen, but the Gators are recruiting both to play edge.

In Octover, just a month after de-committing from Florida, Boireau hinted at a possible return to the class.

“Florida is still at the top of my recruitment; top three,” Boireau told Gators Online. “I always felt the love from Florida; I just had to take a step back and make sure I made the right decision. I feel like they are a team on the come up who can be a real contender in the future. Also, just the city and town. You can really tell it’s a Gator town. I know if I do end up in Gainesville, I’ll be good.”
