Five schools remain for On300 defensive lineman, Jordan Hall, who expects to announce his commitment and sign during the Early Signing Period.

Representing Jacksonville (Fla.) Westside, the 6-foot-3.5, 310-pound Hall is down to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Ohio State. He has already officially visited the Crimson Tide and is traveling up to Ohio State and LSU later this month. The Gators and Bulldogs are expected to receive OVs in December, with Kirby Smart’s program also receiving unofficial visit on Saturday.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Bulldogs continue to trend heavily with odds of 87.5 percent.

“It was a tough decision,” Hall told On3’s Chad Simmons. “With LSU, they’re one of the schools that caught my eye the most. It was them and FSU for that last spot, and I felt like I fit in with LSU more than I fit with FSU. I just feel like these are the five because I can be developed the best there.

“They all have the majors that I’m looking for, and every school has something different about them that makes it feel like home to me.”

Hall is receiving the red-carpet treatment at the Swamp

The school that has hosted Hall more than anybody is the University of Florida.

Defensive line coach Sean Spencer has been consistent from the jump and boasts NFL experience that is also attractive to Hall; however, recruiting the All-American to Gainesville is certainly group effort on behalf of Billy Napier’s staff. UF has been near the very top since the beginning of this year.

“For one, they’re building a class and two, it’s close to home. Not saying that’s a big factor in my recruitment, but it’s easy access for my family to continue talking to me, check on me to see how I’m doing,” Hall said of the Gators when speaking with Simmons.

“I feel like I have family there. Every time I go there, Miss Katie, Miss Bri, Coach Napier, they make me feel like I’m welcome with open arms. Coach Spence, he’s an NFL guy that’s coached at every level. He knows what he’s talking about and develops D-linemen.

“I feel like there’s a big want for me there. When the new coaching staff got hired, they jumped on me. Florida’s always been a top dog in my recruitment.”

Scouting Report

“Explosive defensive lineman who has one of the best first steps in the 2023 cycle. Explodes into the backfield in a split second, blowing up plays in the backfield. Shows outstanding short area burst, closing on quarterbacks and running backs. Uses active hands at the line of scrimmage and employs an effective swim move. Looks to have long arms, which aid in his ability as a violent finisher behind the line.

“Has the play speed to track down plays from the backside. Put together some of the best junior season video among defensive tackles in the 2023 cycle. Played well when facing top competition. Will benefit from time in a college strength program.” — On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power
