After being released from his letter of intent by Texas, 4-star defensive lineman D’antre Robinson has now found his next home.

It’s at the University of Florida, his childhood-favorite.

The product of Orlando (Fla.) Jones has visited the Gators numerous times and had them near the top for much of his recruiting process. And even when he committed to the Longhorns last summer, Billy Napier‘s staff never backed off and wasted no time making a second run after Robinson reopened his recruitment.

Now, the Sunshine State native is set to play college football in his home state.

Robinson is the No. 273 overall prospect and No. 28 defensive lineman in the 2024 class. That is according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the 35th-ranked senior in the state of Florida.

“That’s my dream school, first of all. That’s one of the biggest things,” Robinson previously told Gators Online. “They’re recruiting me hard. I know if I can go there I can play. And I’m not too far from home — and I’m not too close. That was my one dream school. Growing up, it was split sides of Florida and Florida State and my side was Florida so I’ve always been a Florida fan since I was little.

“All my life. I used to play receiver. I always thought about me playing at Florida.”

With Robinson on board, the Gators continue retool their roster along the defensive front.

Additional defensive linemen in the Gators’ 2024 class include 5-star LJ McCray, Penn transfer Joey Slackman and Georgia native Michai Boireau.

During the 2023 season, Robinson recorded 79 total tackles, 10 sacks and nine tackles for loss.
