The first SEC offer is on the table for Jordan Thomas, as the 2026 defensive back received the green light from Florida on Monday.

Thomas, who attends Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic, possesses additional offers from Michigan, Penn State, Miami, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Michigan State and Boston College among others.

This is a national recruit who has a great chance at landing in the 2026 On300 rankings.

“I love that Florida is in the SEC and they play against some of the toughest competition in college,” Thomas told Gators Online. “(Secondary) coach Corey Raymond has a history of developing high-level cornerbacks. The University of Florida has a rich tradition and great fan base.”

The aforementioned Raymond is the coach who informed Thomas of the pleasant news.

He first contacted the DB’s coach and then delivered the news when speaking to Thomas over the phone. It was a strong message that reaffirmed Thomas’ standing as a potential blue-chip prospect.

“After having a great conversation with coach Corey Raymond, I was excited to receive an offer from UF,” said Thomas. “Coach C-Ray told me I checked off the boxes in every category on the field as well as in the classroom. Having an offer from UF was a dream come true. I can’t wait to come down for a visit.”

As for that future trip to the Swamp, has the defender locked in a date?

“Not as of yet. Hopefully very soon,” Thomas replied.

Big Ten and ACC schools have hosted Thomas this fall

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State is trending with odds of 56.8 percent.

The Nittany Lions have hosted the defender on multiple occasions, including for last month’s shutout victory over Iowa. Miami received a visit this season as well and has the second-best odds at 26 percent.

Where does Florida fit into the mix for the New Jersey native?

“Definitely a top priority,” Thomas replied.

This season, Thomas has racked up 41 tackles (28 solo), four interceptions, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
