GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators got better on Friday. Just days after getting out of his NLI with the University of Texas, four-star defensive lineman D’Antre Robinson came home and committed to the Florida Gators. An Orlando native, Robinson visited Florida a number of times during his recruitment.

“That’s my dream school, first of all. That’s one of the biggest things,” Robinson previously told Gators Online. “They’re recruiting me hard. I know if I can go there I can play. And I’m not too far from home — and I’m not too close. That was my one dream school. Growing up, it was split sides of Florida and Florida State and my side was Florida so I’ve always been a Florida fan since I was little.”

Robinson is the No. 273 overall prospect and No. 28 defensive lineman in the 2024 class. That is according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the 35th-ranked senior in the state of Florida.

Robinson originally chose the Texas Longhorns and was set to enroll in classes. The departure of Texas defensive line coach Bo Davis likely had something to do with Robinson asking to be released from his NLI with the Longhorns, which they did on Jan. 16. It took just three days for Robinson to find a new home, one closer to his family in Orlando. Robinson is expected to enroll in classes at Florida and participate with the team this spring.
