First, we had the day (July 10) for the commitment reveal of Fletcher Westphal, a top Florida Gators offensive tackle target from Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora.

Now, we have the time to go with it.

It will be at 11:45 a.m. Monday on his Instagram (@ Fletcher_Westphal), he Tweeted on Friday.

Westphal is the No. 19 offensive tackle and No. 258 overall recruit nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Fletcher Westphal made 4 official visits in the month of June

He officially visited the Gators on June 16-18.

Officials also went to Arkansas, Clemson and Georgia.

Clemson is the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favorite to land Westphal.

After attending the Florida-South Carolina game last season and a practice this spring at Florida, Westphal was able to interact more with the players during his latest trip to Gainesville.

“Just getting to spend a lot of time with the players really,” Westphal said Sunday when asked how this Florida visit was different. “On other visits, I’ve only been to two. One was a game, so I wasn’t spending time with the players.  And then the other was a practice, I spent some time in spring practice with some players like Rod [Kearney], but it was spending a lot of time with the players. And that was definitely a huge, huge part of this official visit.”

Gators starting left tackle Austin Barber served as the player host for Westphal. Barber and other offensive linemen gave Westphal feedback on the Florida football program and on position coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton

“It was really just nothing but positive information (from Barber), just talking good about Coach Sale, Coach Stapleton and how he’s gotten developed to be the player he is right now,” Westphal said. “It’s 365 days a year. It’s nonstop. They don’t stop training. It’s just constantly getting better and better.  I’ve seen it kind of just talking with some of their players, the early enrollees and how they’re feeling kind of after spring ball, after lifts, during OTA’s. I mean, they’re all feeling amazing. They can see improvement. I’ve seen improvement too because I’ve looked at some of their stuff.”

If the Gators land him, what would be the biggest reasons why? Westphal was asked that after his official visit with the Gators.

“I mean, it’s just one of those schools where they check a lot of boxes, right? They have the fantastic education, they have the life after football,” he said. “And Coach Napier, he’s building up that good football and the winning part as well.”
