Former Georgia tight end Brett Seither entered the transfer portal in the last week, and it appears he’s already found his new home. According to Russell Johnson of Rivals, the Clearwater, Fla. native will be headed just down the road to Georgia Tech, joining new Yellow Jacket offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, a Georgia analyst the last three seasons, in making the move to Atlanta.

Seither saw action in 12 games this past season for Georgia without recording any stats. The year before he played in 10 when he had three catches for 42 yards, including a long of 30, and a touchdown reception in Georgia’s game against Charleston Southern. All in all, Seither finishes his Georgia career having appeared in 27 games with four catches for 54 yards and the score.

Seither signed with Georgia in the Class of 2019. A three-star, he came onto the scene late for the Bulldogs and joined Ryland Goede in the recruiting class. According to the On3 Consensus, Seither was the No. 765 overall player in the country and the No. 36 tight end coming out of Clearwater Central Catholic.

Seither is not the only Georgia player to have found a new home already. Bill Norton entered the transfer portal before Georgia’s bowl game and announced his intentions to play at Arizona next fall shortly after. In total, eight Bulldogs have entered the portal including three out of Seither’s tight end room.

Georgia hasn’t come away from the transfer portal empty handed however. The Bulldogs have landed a trio of their own commitments, all three of whom played in the SEC this past season. Mississippi State receiver Rara Thomas and Missouri’s Dominic Lovett both announced their commitments on the second day of the Early Signing Period back in December. Georgia announced their signings shortly after. Both Thomas and Lovett led their respective teams in receiving this past season with 626 yards in 12 games for the Mississippi State product and an All-SEC season for Lovett at Missouri. He hauled in 56 passes for 846 yards and three touchdowns to rank No. 3 in the SEC in terms of yards per game and No. 7 for catches per game.

Then, on Friday, Georgia dipped into the portal once again to land Deyon ‘Smoke’ Bouie from Texas A&M. The defensive back out of Bainbridge, Ga. was once a Bulldog commit before signing with the Aggies in their history Class of 2022. Bouie, the No. 84 overall prospect in the Class of 2022 per the On3 Consensus, appeared in seven games recording four tackles this past season.
