This Channing Tindall Senior Bowl stop will make NFL scouts drool: WATCH

Channing Tindall’s Senior Bowl play drew a comparison to legendary NFL linebacker Patrick Willis. Seriously

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah liked what he saw so much from one Tindall punt coverage tackle, he couldn’t help but think about the 49ers great.

Dawgs fans will also appreciate that Jake Camarda set the whole play in motion with his booming boot:

Channing Tindall’s Senior Bowl acclaim just a starting point

Patrick Willis spent all eight years of his NFL career in San Francisco. The 49ers drafted the Ole Miss star 11th overall in 2007’s NFL Draft. He spun that selection into a 2007 NFL Rookie of the Year Award, a 5x All-Pro career, and a 2x NFL tackles leader.

As of now, Channing Tindall shows up anywhere from the 2nd to 4th rounds of many NFL mock drafts. Personally, I enjoyed watching him fly around this season, starting with an impact game against Clemson in Charlotte.

Tindall also made his presence felt on this critical stop against Alabama in the National Championship, taking Bryce Young from sniffing the end zone, to forcing a field goal attempt.

Still much to prove between now and the Draft

Back to Willis: his NFL Combine workout amazed scouts, and took him from a projected second-round pick to the first round.

At least one of the knocks on Tindall is his limited experience as a major, starting contributor for Georgia’s defense.

He finished 2021 as the Dawgs’ third-leading tackler with 67. His total through three seasons before that matched his jersey number: 41.

Still, if the comparison to Willis bears any weight, then Tindall has an opportunity to improve that draft stock with more analysis of his Senior Bowl effort (five tackles, one pass break-up) and a strong showing at the combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

I’m willing to bet Tindall will feel pretty confident in that building after showing out in Indianapolis earlier this year.
