Georgia Football Scholarship Count (May 10, 2022)
With the NCAA deadline to enter the transfer portal having come and gone, we decided at DawgsHQ that it’d be an appropriate time to take a look at where Georgia’s scholarship count currently stands.
Football is allotted 85 according to the NCAA, and by our count, the Bulldogs are slightly over that number. There are ways around it by bringing guys in not on scholarship and putting them on later, being able to push the problem down the road a little bit, and unless Georgia has graduates that hit the transfer portal seeking immediate eligibility elsewhere, that’s likely what Kirby Smart and company will have to do.
The lack of losses to the transfer portal also affects their ability to take guys from the portal. However, if there’s one thing that we know about College Football, where there is a will, there is a way. In the mean time, let’s take a position by position look at how many players are on scholarship for Georgia entering 2022.
