Georgia wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette finds himself in legal trouble following an arrest on Tuesday.

Fox5 Atlanta was the first to report.

Per the jail records in Oconee County, Morrissette was booked at 10:10 AM on May 8 and bonded out less than two hours later.

He is charged with driving too far for conditions, violating Class D license restrictions, following too closely, and driving under the influence of drugs.

A member of Georgia’s Class of 2022, Morrissette saw action in eleven games during his freshman season. He recorded four receptions for a total of 34 yards and is also credited with an eight yard rush on the season.

Morrissette dealt with a lingering hamstring injury in preseason camp last fall and during the season, as well.

Per the On3 Industry Ranking, Morrissettee was the nation’s No. 203 overall prospect in the Class of 2022, checking in as the No. 35 ranked receiver in the class and the No. 20 overall prospect in the state of Georgia for the cycle.

He committed to the Bulldogs in April of 2021.

In speaking regarding Morrissette and his fellow classmates, Kirby Smart offered the following as to how things were coming along last October.

“The challenges are opportunities,” Smart said. “Something about laying receiver that you really need to do it in a game to get the utmost confidence, and Dillon’s probably got a little bit of that. De’Nylon (Morrissette), he’s played more than most freshmen, but still not a lot. C.J. Smith’s really come along well, but hasn’t had a ton of opportunities.

“Those guys are getting a lot of reps and getting better in practice, but it’s hard to gain the confidence and experience you need until you get live game reps. Those guys have not gotten a ton. They’ve gotten some, Oscar (Delp’s) gotten some. I’m very pleased with that class of guys. It’s probably the first wide receiver class that we can say across the board, ‘Man, we’ve got some good players in it.’ They’re just not there right now. There’s a couple guys in front of them, too.”

Morrissette, who played his high school ball at North Cobb High School, is a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia.

His arrest is the third driving-related incident of the offseason for the Bulldogs, as former Bulldog and Eagles first-round pick Jalen Carter was arrested prior to the NFL Combine and charged with reckless driving and racing. Linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson was arrested on the same charges as Carter in January.
