Dug Mcdaniel Transfers To Kansas State

KSO covers the biggest winners and losers in the world of Kansas State and college athletics.

Winners

1.) Kansas State: The Wildcats dodged a bullet thanks to Gene Taylor and others. The Kansas State athletic director worked his magic in order to keep head coach Jerome Tang from Arkansas. The coaches come out of it with a little more money, too.
2.) On3: Probably the national recruiting reporter with the strongest reputation of breaking news is Steve Wiltfong. After a successful stop at 247sports, he now works for On3. That is a huge pick-up for Shannon Terry as he continues to grow his new titanic business.
3.) Coaching staff: Not only is Tang and his assistants staying in Manhattan,, they also landed one of the best transfers in the country in guard Dug McDaniel of Michigan. He picked K-State over TCU and others.
4.) USC: Despite losing head coach Andy Enfield to SMU, USC may have upgraded after the hiring of Eric Musselman from Arkansas. He took the Razorbacks to both the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 multiple times.
5.) Cam: We’re all happy for Cam Carter. The now former Kansas State guard gets to go back to home after committing to LSU.

Losers

1.) Arkansas: They couldn’t steal Chris Beard from Ole Miss. They couldn’t steal Jerome Tang from K-State. The Razorbacks are still without a coach after telling anyone that would listen that it would be a quick search. Instead, it looks to be going as bad as it did for Louisville.
2.) Mulkey: Between the bad press from the Washington Post and falling to Iowa and not even making it to the Final Four, LSU head coach Kim Mulkey has certainly had better weeks.
3.) KU: Kansas didn’t have a good week, either. And I’m not referring to the basketball front where Bill Self is already making some moves in the transfer portal. But Lance Leipold and the Jayhawks already know they’ll be without tight end DeShawn Hanika after he suffered a season-ending injury.
4.) Softies: Everyone needs to relax. Including Self saying, “It’s a great day to be a Wildcat” in the Dug McDaniel commitment to Kansas State video was hilarious.
5.) Underdogs: Sorry, NC State and Alabama. You were no match for Purdue and UConn.
