KSO covers the biggest winners and losers in the world of Kansas State and college athletics.

Winners

1.) Quarterbacks: They say a team with two quarterbacks doesn’t have one. Kansas State proved folks wrong on that front last Saturday when they demolished TCU with both Will Howard and Avery Johnson.
2.) Visitors: Having an offensive explosion and defensive domination in front of a stacked visitor list should be a very good thing for Chris Klieman and K-State. They hosted four official visitors, and one has already committed. Callen Barta flipped from Nebraska to Kansas State. He and others saw the Wildcats smack TCU 41-3.
3.) Drinkwitz: Hats off to Eli Drinkwitz and Missouri. They haven’t slowed down since defeating K-State in Columbia. They’re 7-1 and face Georgia this upcoming weekend.
4.) Wildcats: It is Patrick Ngongba week in Manhattan. The five-star big man will visit Kansas State this week after trips to all of Michigan, Kentucky, UConn and Duke.
5.) ‘Pokes: Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State have also not slowed down since knocking off K-State. They’re 3-1 in the Big 12 after wins over Kansas and West Virginia.

Losers

1.) Spartans: I’m not sure anyone is having a worse year than Michigan State. Not only do they stink on the field and are going to miss a bowl, not only did their in-state archrival smoke them 49-0, not only did they have to fire their coach with cause because of sexual misconduct but they had to issue an in-game apology for placing a huge photo of Adolf Hitler on their jumbotron.
2.) Haters of Prime: Those that do not like Coach Prime may not enjoy some of the similarities between he and Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang. That was one of the reasons why the Wildcats’ basketball boss made a trip to Boulder. He wanted to learn more about the marketing and branding mechanism that Deion Sanders is orchestrating with Constance Schwartz-Morini. It didn’t have anything to do with raising the bar or establishing championship expectations. K-State has already had that. Tang has already had more success than Sanders between the lines.
3.) Red Raiders: It hasn’t been a good year for Joey McGuire and Texas Tech. After being blasted by both Kansas State and BYU, they are in danger of going from a darkhorse conference title contender to missing a bowl game.
4.) Arkansas: Another team that will miss a bowl is Arkansas. The Razorbacks are already 2-6 and just fired offensive coordinator Dan Enos. Head coach Sam Pittman is likely next.
5.) Dykes: TCU head coach Sonny Dykes said he and his players were embarrassed by their showing in Manhattan where they fell 41-3 to K-State. They probably should be, to be honest. They were dominated.
