Kentucky has continued to make C.J. Rosser, the top-ranked player in 2027, a priority. With the contact period for 2027 recruits beginning at midnight on June 15, Rosser was one of the first to receive a call.

The 6-foot-9, 185-pound power forward from Northern Nash (Rocky Mount, NC) was contacted by Kentucky head coach Mark Pope and assistant coach Mikhail McLean when the contact period began, his mother told KSR+. He recently averaged 19.8 points on 44.6 percent shooting and 31.3 percent from three with 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 assists in four live period performances with the UK staff in attendance.

Rosser received an offer from Kentucky shortly after the Nike EYBL NCAA live period event in Memphis last month. He told KSR+ that Pope has been discussing areas where he can improve with him.

“It’s a big school that produces a lot of NBA prospects,” Rosser said. “A lot of NBA players come through there, and I could be one-and-done.”

C.J. Rosser’s Game

Five-star forward C.J. Rosser of Rocky Mount (NC) Northern Nash is the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Rosser as the No. 6 player overall, the top-ranked power forward, and the overall best player in North Carolina.

Rosser recently participated with Team USA in the FIBA U16 AmeriCup in Juarez, Mexico, earning a Gold Medal. Rosser averaged 13.7 points on 56.1 percent from the field, with 6.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game over Team USA’s six games.

“It was nice playing against good players, especially at the camp,” Rosser said. “It was fun to be down there with a bunch of good teammates. Everybody is on the same level as you, and it helps you become more of a role player.”
