On Friday, LSU landed a massive in-state prospect when New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine offensive lineman Tyree Adams committed to the Tigers, he announced. Adams is the second offensive line commit now in the 2023 class.

LSU beat out the likes of Ole MissGeorgiaFlorida and Alabama are for Adams, who is in Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit.

LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis impressed him during his camp visit in Baton Rouge last month.

“I love him. He’s on me through every rep, through every drill and he’s on me all day with the little things, not even just the big things,” Adams said. “Coming to see that is great. He loves his players and he loves what he do and that’s why he’s going to be here for a long time.

“I’m loving LSU. They show me consistent love each and every day. I’m really appreciative to be a very high prospect on their list.”

According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Tyree Adams ranks as the No. 209 overall prospect in the nation, No. 17 offensive tackle nationally and No. 14 prospect in Louisiana. On3 has him even higher, coming in as the No. 105 overall prospect, No. 10 offensive tackle nationally and No. 5 prospect in Louisiana.

Tyree Adams scouting report

“Patient and powerful offensive line prospect that possesses a developmental, all-around skillset. Measures in around 6-foot-5 and weighs close to 285 pounds with a 10-inch hand and 6-foot-8 wingspan. Will add necessary weight throughout his frame with ease in order to excel in college. Has a clean kick slide in pass protection.

“Shoots his hands and locks on once engaged in running and passing game. Explosiveness jumps off the tape as well as his ability to stay square and balanced. Jumped a 28-inch vertical and ran an electronically-timed 7.63 3-cone this spring heading into his senior season. Has considerable upside due to movement skills combined with his build. Fine tuning by collegiate coaching could send his stock through the roof. One the younger end of the spectrum for the 2023 class.” -On3 director of scouting Charles Power
