LSU football has landed commitment No. 19 for the 2024 class with the addition of John Curtis rising senior wide receiver Michael Turner.

Turner announced his commitment to the Tigers following a strong camp showing in Baton Rouge in June, which led to a verbal scholarship offer from the LSU staff.

Now, Turner is on board as another recruiting domino drops in Louisiana for the 2024 cycle.

Turner didn’t wait long to join the Tigers

After working out at multiple LSU camps, including the program’s final camp in June, Turner was brought into head coach Brian Kelly‘s office for a meeting.

From there, he got the news that the chance to be an LSU Tiger was now on the table.

“His message was he loved how I was hungry and came back to camp and earned my offer,” Turner said. “He said I could have just stayed home and been like ‘just forget about it’, but he liked how I came back and showed him I wanted it.”

Turner, a New Orleans area native, said the offer from the Tigers was one he had been waiting on.

“It feels really great, because I can say all the hard work I put in is paying off and it’s showing,” Turner said. “I give all thanks to the man above. None this would be possible without him.”

Turner gives LSU another WR commitment for 2024

Now, LSU wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton has three wide receivers committed for the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Turner joins fellow Louisiana native Kylan Billiot and Georgia wide receiver JoJo Stone as the three receivers currently in the class. Sources tell the Bengal Tiger that LSU could sign as many as five wide receivers this cycle, depending on how the total scholarship numbers shake out.

LSU remains in the mix for a number of national wide receivers, and the Tigers are set to host Texas four-star wideout Jelani Watkins on an official visit this weekend.

One of the LSU program’s top targets, Texas four-star receiver Dre’lon Miller, is set to announce his college decision on June 29.
