Over the weekend, the Adidas 3SSB circuit took place in Bryan, Texas, in the backyard of Texas A&M’s campus. There are 40 teams competing in four games over three days. I was able to attend the Saturday and Sunday sessions along with hundreds of coaches from teams across the country, including LSU’s head coach Matt McMahon and assistant coach Casey Long. Head coaches Bill Self, Scott Drew, Matt Painter, Kelvin Sampson, Rodney Terry, Buzz Williams, Fran McCafrey, Mark Pope, and other head coaches made the trip to Bryan for at least one of the days.

LSU fans, check out our story on the Tigers’ top targets and the prospects to know.

Here, we’ll be focused on the top teams and players I saw in my two days in Bryan. I tried to track down all of the top players and teams in my finite time. I ended up watching 16 teams, including the top ranked teams on multiple occasions.

The five best teams I saw

1. Indiana Elite (12-0 season record)

For the second straight year, there was no doubt as to who the best team in the 3SSB circuit was. Indiana Elite has elite size, shooting, and chemistry on the court which overwhelms teams. They are constantly on the same page and even when shots aren’t falling, they have a seven-footer in Malachi Moreno who can control the paint. An incredibly fun team to watch with four top 150 players and multiple unranked role players who just make winning plays.

2. Team Loaded VA (13-0)

The team LSU’s coaching staff was most locked in on because of the top-end talent of five-star Nate Ament and three other top 120 players. When they’re clicking, they’re the one team that can compete with Indiana Elite. I love their balance of athleticism and playmaking. The defense can get after people and create havoc. They pulled out a tight game on Sunday afternoon against New York WizKids.

3. Compton Magic (10-3)

I didn’t see Alijah Arenas on Saturday or Sunday, the No. 3 player in the 2026 class, but Koa Peat and two more top 100 guards still gave them plenty of talent to work with. They won their four games this weekend by a combined 78 points and are clearly one of the most talented teams on the circuit.

4. Phenom United (8-5)

With Darryn Peterson leading the way, this is an incredibly rugged team that has a lot of quality role players and a star to go to when things get tough. I watched them pull out a tough game against Mass Rivals on Saturday, then on Sunday without Peterson, they beat a really solid ASAK team to finish a 4-0 weekend.

5. Team Loaded NC (9-4)

Mikel Brown is a legit top 15 talent and he’s paired with Jordan Tillery who reclassed from 2024 to 2025 and is certainly someone who will be playing high-major basketball as a result. The rest of the roster has really nice role players and strong defenders with size. The offense can be a bit clunky, but they have enough to be competitive in every game.

Others watched: New World, ASAK, Mass Rivals, Brookwood Elite, TJ Ford, Austin Rivers SE Elite, Upward Stars, Compton Magic, Team Lillard, K-Low Elite, New York Wizkids.

20 most impressive 2025 prospects at Adidas 3SSB May 18-19

1. Darryn Peterson, Phenom United (No. 3 ranked player)

2. Nate Ament, Team Loaded VA (No. 10)

3. Mikel Brown, Team Loaded NC (No. 14)

4. Koa Peat, Compton Magic (No. 5)

5. John Clark, TJ Ford Academy (No. 40)

6. Malachi Moreno, Indiana Elite (No. 39)

7. Moustapha Thiam, Austin Rivers SE Elite (No. 17)

This top group was a ton of fun to watch. Peterson was by far the best player I watched and may be my favorite player in the 2025 class. Ament is an awesome shooter and will fill out his frame to be an elite three-level scorer. Brown, Peat, and Brown all carried their teams to wins, while Moreno showed nice polish to his game and had nice defensive presence. Watched Thiam twice and on Sunday he was much more under control on both ends — at 7-foot-1, he can dominate games in the paint.

8. Braylon Mullins, Indiana Elite (No. 81)

9. Dillan Shaw, Compton Magic (No. 88)

10. Bo Ogden, ASAK (No. 54)

11. Kaden Magwood, Team Loaded VA (No. 97)

12. JJ Mandaquit, Compton Magic (No. 53)

13. Trent Sisley, Indiana Elite (No. 103 player)

14. Jordan Tillery, Team Loaded NC (NR)

Everyone in this group except for Ogdon operated as excellent complimentary players on their teams. Mullins might be the best shooter in the 2025 class, while Shaw, Magwood, Sisley, and Tillery were all excellent attacking the rim and showing their athleticism for their positions.

15. Jordan Watford, Upward Stars (No. 128)

16. Jasir Rencher, Team Lillard (No. 101)

17. Jacob Ross, Team Loaded VA (No. 116)

18. Aidan Argabright, New World (NR)

19. Damon Friery, Wildcat Select (No. 160)

20 Dezmon Briscoe, Indiana Elite (No. 146 player)

Loved what I saw from Watford as the best player on a pretty good Upward Stars team. I think whatever team gets him will be pleased with his toughness and playmaking. Rencher’s team struggled in a loss on Sunday which was the only game I watched, but he’s clearly talented and I liked his defensive strength on the wing. I wanted to give Argabright a shoutout because his offer list is not extensive right now and he’s not even rated, but at 5-foot-11, he gave Indiana Elite all it could handle on Sunday with awesome shot making. Ross, Friery, and Briscoe are all athletic wings/forwards who rebounded and made plays on defense.

Three standout 2026 prospect at Adidas 3SSB

Sebastian Wilkins, Mass Rivals (No. 40)

Brandon Bass Jr, Austin Rivers SE Elite (No. 35)

Latrell Almond, Team Loaded VA (No. 32 on 247Sports)

These three are all potential risers with tons of upside. Wilkins went toe-to-toe with Darryn Peterson for stretches on Sunday with great size as a scoring wing. Watched Bass Jr. twice and was really impressed with his maturity, his shooting, and understanding of the game on a very talented team. Almond will be a top 30 player in the class, I’m fairly confident. His athleticism as a forward will be a great compliment for a good team at the next level. I want to see how he expands his game next summer, but he already has offers from Florida State, LSU, Louisville. and 14 other programs.
