Over the last two days, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and his Hurricanes staff hosted numerous top targets from the 2025 class and beyond and made quite an impression on several of the nation’s best.

With names such as five-star linebacker Zayden Walker, four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown, four-star linebacker Gavin Nix, four-star offensive lineman Max Buchanan, elite defensive end Marion Dye, top-75 EDGE Zion Grady, four-star USC commit Hylton Stubbs, and more on campus, there was no shortage of talent in South Florida.

CaneSport had you fully covered with the news of the weekend from the top recruits that were on campus. They met with coaches, watched the team’s scrimmage, toured the facilities and more.

Your coverage recap:

5-star LB Zayden Walker calls Miami interest ‘a 9.5’ out of 10 after Saturday visit

Georgia may be doing everything it can to keep Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County five-star linebacker Zayden Walkerin the Peach State, but Miami continues to be a serious threat and a real contender for the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 2 linebacker in the On3 Industry Ranking.

“I’d say (my interest in Miami) is like a 9.5 (out of 10),” Walker told CaneSport Saturday. “I wanted to go to a spring practice, see how they practice and stuff like that. I’m definitely going to be looking to see how coach (Derek Nicholson) gets the guys going and stuff like that.”

Miami continuing to climb for top-75 RB Ousmane Kromah on unofficial visit

Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County four-star 2025 running back Ousmane Kromah went into his Miami visit knowing he wanted to give the Hurricanes a chance. He left feeling the Hurricanes checked more than a few boxes.

“Really, they’re just good people,” Kromah told CaneSport. “I talked to them a little bit yesterday, but everyone here are just good people. They’re just family-oriented. Everybody on the faculty just loves each other. They’re all cool. It’s a family, real life. Some places just say it’s a family, but here it’s really a family.”

Top-50 DE Mariyon Dye has “great” Miami visit on Saturday, was impressed by practice, coaches and has Hurricanes OV set up

Elkhart (Ind.) Elkhart Central top-50 EDGE Mariyon Dye has blossomed into a major national recruit with bigtime interest from programs like Ohio State and Georgia. Coming off his first visit to Coral Gables? He knows Miami is in the mix too.

“Today was good, man, got a great visit,” Dye told CaneSport after his visit. “The practice (the team scrimmaged), I like how the energy was.”

Top-70 DL Zion Grady bonds with Jason Taylor on Saturday visit to Miami

Troy (Ala.) Enterprise 4-star EDGE Zion Grady is the No. 63 overall recruit and No. 8 EDGE in the 2025 class per On3, and on Saturday Miami had a chance to impress him on his first visit to campus since January.

“This really was just (about) seeing more of it, how it is,” Grady said. “(The scrimmage today) was a very intense, high-motor practice. I like the way they got after it today.

Miami a top contender for top-100 WR Vernell Brown

Wildwood (Fla.) Jones top-100 receiver Vernell Brown III is holding off on announcing his official visits for a few more weeks, but the four-star 2025 Miami priority feels the Hurricanes are in a strong position to receive an official visit from him following his Saturday visit to Coral Gables.

“They’ll definitely get an OV out of me for sure,” Brown said. “They’re just being genuine and intentional about the process. Just the whole time, they’ve never been recruiting me. They’ve just been showing me what it is, and it’s been proven.”
