Michigan football had a strong showing during the 2022 NFL Draft, headlined by EDGE Aidan Hutchinson going second overall to the Detroit Lions. Recent Vegas odds released have a Wolverine on the list that could surpass Hutchinson’s selection.

Left tackle Ryan Hayes, entering his fifth season with Michigan, is sitting at +8000 to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, per Vegas Insider. He is the only Wolverine currently listed as a potential top pick. The list is headlined by Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud at +220.

Hayes would be Michigan’s first top overall pick since Jake Long in 2008 to the Miami Dolphins.

Michigan sent five players to the 2022 draft with Hutchinson, safety Daxton Hill (Cincinnati Bengals), EDGE David Ojabo (Baltimore Ravens), running back Hassan Haskins (Tennessee Titans) and offensive lineman Andrew Stueber (New England Patriots) selected over three days.

Michigan quote of the day

“There are certain college football programs that are built like NFL programs. Alabama is one, and Michigan is the other one. The two top ones, I would say. Those are the ones I’m thinking of off the top of my head. So those guys generally come in and they know what to expect. It’s a little flatter for those guys in terms of practice and understanding how it works.”
