Gach Recruitment

Michigan has made Gach one of its top targets along the offensive line this cycle and hosted him for three visits this spring, including for the annual spring game over the weekend.

Gach is set to make his decision on May 3 and recently released a final four of Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

So will the Wolverines seal the deal with the talented in-state prospect? Here is what Holland said about his recruitment.

“I think Michigan is in a great spot going into his decision date,” Holland said. “The Wolverines have checked all of the boxes for him this offseason. He made three visits this spring, including over the weekend for the spring game. Michigan obviously has the offensive line production to sell. He has a great relationship with Sherrone Moore, who served as his primary recruiter before he was promoted to head coach. Grant Newsome has done a fantastic job of building that bond with him.

“He already knows some of the players on the team. He even got to go to class with Blake Frazier on of these visits. I think he identifies with everything Michigan-related, and he sees himself as a perfect fit. The other schools that made his top group, Ohio State, Michigan State and Wisconsin, I don’t really see any as major threats here.”

Michigan has the heavy lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 94.4 percent chance of landing him. Michigan State is in second place with a 1.9 percent chance of landing him.

At 6-foot-4, 270 pounds, Gach is ranked as the No. 19 interior offensive lineman and No. 252 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 2 overall recruit in the state of Michigan.

Michigan currently has four commits in its 2025 recruiting class — Top 100 Oak Park (Ill.) Fenwick EDGE Nate Marshall, On300 Fort Myers (Fla). Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith, four-star Howell (Mich.) High defensive lineman Bobby Kanka and three-star Alcoa (Tenn.) High tight end Eli Owens. The class entered the day ranked No. 17 nationally and No. 5 in the Big Ten, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings.
