Former Michigan State edge commit Chris Addison officially signs with Mississippi State
During Wednesday’s signing day press conference, head coach Jeff Lebby noted that the staff was still working on a couple of targets. That turned out to be good news a few hours later for Mississippi State and the Class of 2026.
Former Michigan State commitment and Rivals three-star edge prospect Chris Addison officially signed with the Bulldogs this evening. Addison is the 29th signee of the day for Mississippi State and the second edge prospect in the class, joining Rivals four-star prospect Micah Nickerson. Earlier on Wednesday, Nickerson flipped from Missouri after originally being in State’s class back in June.
Addison is rated as the nation’s No. 56 edge and the state’s No. 16 prospect by Rivals. The Franklin Parish (La.) School product also held Power 4 offers from Florida State, North Carolina, Houston, TCU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Baylor, UCLA and Arkansas.

Addison was expected to officially visit Mississippi State back in June but ended up cancelling that visit. A month later, Addison joined the Michigan State class but then backed off that pledge following the recent coaching change at Michigan State.
This past season, the 6-foot-2.5 and 245-pound Addison helped lead Franklin Parish to a 9-3 record and a second-round playoff appearance in the Class 4A ranks. He totaled 63 tackles (34 solos) with 11.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
