COLUMBUS — Another member of the best wide receiver unit in America is beginning to flash: Caleb Burton shed his black stripe this week.

A former four-star prospect from Del Valle, Texas, Burton officially became a part of the Buckeyes football program Tuesday when he had his black stripe ceremoniously removed during a team activity.

He is the fifth Ohio State player to shed the black stripe since bowl practices began.

Burton was one of 14 freshmen in Ohio State’s 2022 class to enroll mid-year. The former four-star recruit is 5-foot-11, 169 pounds. He was the No. 40 wide receiver in the 2022 cycle and the No. 46 overall prospect in Texas in the 2022 class, according to On3.

Burton joins 20 other Buckeyes players to lose their black stripe this year.
