COLUMBUS — Another member of the talented Ohio State 2022 recruiting class is officially a part of the program.

Buckeyes freshman offensive lineman Carson Hinzman shed his black stripe on Wednesday, a sign that he has done the work to be a member of the football program.

A former four-star prospect from Saint Croix Central High School in Hammond, Wisconsin, Hinzman joins 17 other members of the Ohio State class to lose his black stripe. He is the first of the four Buckeyes freshman offensive linemen to shed the stripe.

Hinzman is the second freshman to lose his black stripe since the regular season ended and bowl practice began. Defensive lineman Omari Abor lost his last week.
