COLUMBUS — Ohio State has found plenty of success on the recruiting trail this spring.

The Buckeyes added five pledges to their 2024 class in the span of six weeks. Four-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive linemen Deontae and Devontae Armstrong and three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic interior offensive lineman Marc Nave were the first three to commit.

Then almost a week ago, four-star San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial running back James Peoples ended his recruitment and committed to the Buckeyes.

Two days after Peoples made his decision, five-star New Haven (Ind) wide receiver Mylan Graham announced his commitment to Ohio State.

That is quite an impressive run by the Buckeyes in recent days, and that’s where the conversation starts in the latest episode of the Lettermen Lounge.

Lettermen Row staffers Spencer Holbrook and Matt Parker hopped back into the lounge and discussed the number of successes the Buckeyes have had on the trail this spring.

The duo started off the show talking about the run Ohio State has had this spring and what it means for position coaches Justin Frye, Tony Alford and Brian Hartline.

That trio of coaches has performed very well in the early portions of 2023 for the 2024 cycle, and there’s still a way to go. Frye looks to bring in at least one more offensive lineman. Alford has room for at most two running backs. Hartline is looking to close out the wide receiver haul with one more, probably another for the slot.

As impressive as a run it has been for the Buckeyes, it’s only been on the offensive side of the ball. At least, the commitments have only been on that side.

Ohio State has plenty of silent momentum on the defensive side of the trail after it hosted a number of visitors this spring. The Buckeyes have brought in an impressive amount of talent this spring including: Dylan Stewart, Williams Nwaneri, Kobe Black, Charles Lester III, Payton Pierce, Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, Aaron Scott Jr., Bryce West, Marquise Lightfoot and more.

The Buckeyes have done a great job on these visits with nearly all of those names set to return for official visits in June. Does that mean commitments, however?

Not necessarily, but the Buckeyes continue to put themselves in good positions with a number of prospects as the 2024 class — No. 2 per the On3 Industry Team Rankings — continues to grow.

All of that conversation and more happened in the latest episode of the Lettermen Lounge, so come check it out here, or by watching below.
