How Oregon safety Evans Williams performed at the 2024 NFL Combine
Former Oregon safety Evan Williams turned heads with some impressive testing results at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Friday.
Williams, who earned second-team all-conference honors during his lone season with the Ducks last fall, arrived at the Combine this week with plenty to gain.
After being listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds on UO’s official roster, here are his official Combine measurements.
Height: 5-foot-11
Weight: 200 pounds
Hand: 10 1/8″
Arm: 30 1/8″
Wingspan: 72.88″
Williams ran a 4.60-second 40-yard dash, which ranked 14th out of 19 safeties. His 10-yard split of 1.55 seconds ranked 11th.
Williams showed noteworthy explosiveness during the jumping tests. His 40.5-inch vertical was the second-best among safeties at the Combine. Only Tyler Owens of Texas Tech (41 inches) recorded a better jump.
In the board jump, Williams posted a 10-foot, 6-inch leap — fourth-best among safeties. Owens led all safeties with a 12-foot, 2-inch broad jump.

“Williams was a tad more consistent in 2022 while at Fresno State, but he was also put in better position to succeed. He is broad-hipped with limited agility and athleticism to align too far away from the line of scrimmage. He’s a box safety with a good feel for finding entry points and making tackles near the line. He can match up underneath and is average in zone but will allow too many big plays against NFL wideouts. He has a chance to impress on special teams but inconsistent open-field tackling could hurt his chances of becoming a viable backup strong safety.” Lance Zierlein
