Shrouded in Rumor, Ducks Embarrassed in Pac-12 Title Game
I’d like to say that this game was, at the very, very least, better than the previous encounter against Utah. I’d like to say Oregon showed fight, and grit, and pride.
I’d like to say anything positive about what transpired Friday night, but I can’t. Because it was that ugly, that embarrassing, that pitiful.
Oregon lost 38-10, but they would have been far better off not showing up at all. Anthony Brown was abysmal, the offensive line was a joke, and the defense was outmanned at every level.
The focus Friday was on Mario Cristobal, and whether or not he was Miami-bound. After this performance, it’s hard to think players and coaches did anything but read social media and wonder the same thing.
There’s a bowl game upcoming. Before then, and certainly after, more questions than at any time in the past five years.
