T.J. Bass, Verone McKinley III receive weekly Pac-12 honors
Two Oregon players have received weekly conference awards for their performances against Stony Brook in Eugene.
Verone McKinley III was named the Pac-12 defensive player of the week. He grabbed two interceptions in Oregon’s 48-7 win over the Seawolves and finished with three tackles.
He earned a solid 80.1 overall grade by Pro Football Focus, including an 88.5 pass-coverage grade.
The honor comes one week after McKinley garnered Bronko Nagurski national defensive player of the week honors for his showing at Ohio State.
T.J. Bass earned Pac-12 offensive lineman of the week honors. This marks the second week in a row that an Oregon player has received the honor — Alex Forsyth earned it in Week 2.
Bass tied for the team-high with four knockdowns while helping Oregon rack up 173 rushing yards.
He earned a 93.5 run-blocking grade from PFF, the top grade in the nation among guards and second-best nationally among all offensive lineman.
