Barring something completely unforeseen, South Carolina is done putting together its 2023-24 roster and now turns its full attention to the next few high school classes.

And this week is a big one for the Gamecocks. There are two massive recruiting events happening within an hour from Columbia as part of one of three July live periods where coaches can get on the road recruiting.

For starters, this week is the annual Peach Jam tournament, the culmination of Nike’s EYBL Circuit, in North Augusta. Adidas is also having its championship tournament in Rock Hill where a few South Carolina targets will be.

Peach Jam includes a slew of Nike-backed teams with a ton of South Carolina prospects heading to the South Carolina-Georgia border to play this week.

Newly-offered Bishop Boswell should be there with Team CP3 at the event. The Gamecocks offered Boswell Monday, jumping into his recruitment as he gets ready for the final month of the grassroots circuit.

On3 ranks Boswell as a four-star guard and the No. 50 prospect in the 2024 class (No. 7 overall point guard). He checks in at No. 62 nationally in the Industry Ranking and the ninth-best point guard.

Another one of South Carolina’s backcourt targets, Elijah Crawford, will be at Peach Jam with The Skill Factory. Crawford ranks as the No. 88 player in On3’s rankings and No. 169 in the Industry Ranking.

Crawford is expected to take an unofficial visit to South Carolina sometime in August.

Austin Swartz has a South Carolina offer and has been on campus for an unofficial visit before. He will play with Team Boo Williams as well.

Another point guard prospect, KJ Greene, will be in Rock Hill with the Adidas Circuit playing with Upward Stars. That’s the same grassroots organization to produce current South Carolina players Ta’Lon Cooper, Collin Murray-Boyles and Arden Conyers.

There will also be some 2025 prospects who pop up over the course of the weekend playing in the 16U divisions. One of those is Hayden Assemian, who just cracked the On3 Top 150 for the 2025 class.

The Gamecocks watched the Powdersville (S.C.) forward play a few weeks ago during the scholastic live period.

Right now South Carolina only has one commitment in its 2024 class. That’s three-star power forward Okku Federiko out of Omnia Basketball Academy in Finland.

On3 rates him as the No. 134 player in the class while being the No. 28 player at his position.

Coaches can officially get out on the road recruiting starting Thursday and be at these events through Sunday’s championships.
