'24 guard Trent Noah commits to South Carolina

A few days after landing its first commitment in the 2025 class, South Carolina got good news Sunday in the form of Trent Noah.

The Gamecock landed a commitment from Noah–a three-star guard in the 2024 class from Harlan (K.Y.)–who announced his decision live on the On3 YouTube channel Sunday afternoon.

Noah chose South Carolina over the likes of Dayton, Saint Louis, Stanford, Richmond, Western Kentucky, Butler, and Seton Hall.

The Gamecocks hosted Noah for an official visit last weekend, sealing the deal and making him the second member of South Carolina’s recruiting class.

On3 ranks Noah as the No. 146 player in the 2024 class and the No. 27 shooting guard. He checks in as the No. 196 player in the Industry Rankings and a three-star prospect.

South Carolina started to ratchet up his recruitment after watching him on the Adidas Circuit this summer, offering him in July and ultimately landing his commitment.

“The impression is obviously great. They’re in a very high-level conference and play in a great league against great competition,” Noah said after being offered. They’ve made a recent run to the Final Four. It’s awesome to build relationships with people from South Carolina.”

He loved the staff and that was a big piece of why he’s ultimately now in the Gamecocks’ 2024 class.

“The main thing is the relationship I have with the staff and that I’ll build with the staff. That’s who I’m going to be around for the next four years or so,” he said in July. “The relationship with the staff and the coaches is the biggest thing.”

He’s the second commitment in the 2024 class, joining Finnish big man Okku Federiko. On3 ranks Federiko the No. 134 player in the class.

Trent Noah scouting report from On3‘s Jamie Shaw

“Trent Noah had a very good summer on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. It was the consistency throughout that really stood out. For starters, the jump shot. He is a weapon off the catch, with deep range and a quick and confident release. Noah has good footwork of movement, and maintains good balance throughout.

He is a good positional rebounder in his area, not afraid to mix it up. While the foot speed and explosive athleticism will be questioned, he understands team defense and he has good instincts. Noah is a quick processor, able to dissect plays in real time and deliver on target and on time. He has a mature and confident game with a lot of toughness.”
